When first attending counseling my wife and I were informed by the company to not worry about anything and that *** would take care of it. We were never asked to pay anything when seeing the counselor weekly for 3 months. We did not attend counseling one time in October 2019. In December 2019 we received a bill from the counselor for all the co pays that we're due for the last three months, also they charged my insurance company for these dates of service. 13 dates of service that we are being billed for we did not even have an appointment scheduled, my insurance company was billed and they are now expecting me to pay for charges that are fraud. Also, the bill is stating that I am now 60 days past due when I didn't receive the first bill until December 2019. Also, the first bill that I received was half of my bill and half of someone else's bill with someone else's name, account number, dates of service and amount billed to them and their insurance company.
No further contact by the business I received someone else bill which I believe is a HIPPA violation. I have been and my insurance company has been billed for 13 dates of service which we were never scheduled for. There record keeping, paperwork organization, privacy policies and paperwork need to be looked into. Ultimately because of all the poor business practices I would my bill to be voided

Had the client contacted us, this would have already been resolved. We use an outside billing agency and are currently in the process of transitioning to doing it in-house. The billing agency we have been using has made mistakes in the past, though I have not been made aware of any fraud or HIPAA violations from the billing company. We do pro bono work on an on-going basis and would never put a client into a bad position. If the client feels he owes us something and is in a position to pay, he can send us a check. If not, that is fine. I will review what the insurance company has been billed and make any corrections, and I will write off anything that has been billed to the client. In addition, I will certainly inform the billing company to cease contact with the client.
