My car was broken into on their property and they won't take full responsibility for the damages.
I made contact with Briggs on the *** to replace my airbag since there was an immediate recall on my *** Subaru ***. I called them on the *** to see if I could tow my car to them because my brakes weren't working and the car was inoperable. I kept checking up with them on the servicing of my vehicle after I towed it there and called on the *** at 10:30 am to see if they had finally worked on it and diagnosed the issue. The service manager then informed me that my vehicle that had actually been broken into, and that two of my windows had been shattered as well as everything else had been taken, except a brand new low-profile jack that was in the backseat. Over $*** in my property was taken from me, including tools, subwoofers, my box, amp, wiring, head-unit, and radio. They never even let me know that my car was broken into, nor did they even file a police report. I had to call up *** PD myself. My case number is ***. I called Briggs back on the *** at 12:10 PM and asked for video surveillance of the crime and the service manager said he would call me back soon. I never got a call for over 3-hours so I called back and talked to the General Manager, ***, and he told me they didn't have any cameras and that because my car was in their "public lot" they would have just as much liability as if my car got broken into at a ***, therefore "It wasn't his property or his problem". My dad was in correspondence with Briggs too and they lied to him telling him that they had sent me an email the morning of the *** explaining what had happened. They never sent me anything and barely communicated as it is. Following this, I posted a bunch of bad reviews on their *** page, so they finally agreed to pay for the windows. After this, they ordered the wrong window for my car and I didn't get my car back till the ***. I was without a car for over 3 weeks because of this and I wasn't even able to get to work this whole time. When I received my car back, broken glass was still strewn all across my cars floor and seats and I ended up cutting myself a few times on tiny pieces of glass even after I vacuumed it out. They were trying to charge me over *** dollars to repair everything "wrong" with my car in their report so I towed it to *** in *** instead. Over at this shop they told me that a few major parts of my car that were listed as in "Critical condition and needed replacement immediately" were perfectly fine and that the mechanics at Briggs were more than likely just trying to get more of a commission off of me. The original problem with the brakes that Briggs had diagnosed was a broken rear left caliper, when in reality, both of my calipers were perfectly fine and this whole time the only thing my car needed to run was a brake fluid change.
I would like atleast $*** dollars from Briggs since my property was taken from me while in their custody and while they had possession of my vehicle.
I bought a used car from Briggs and the motor is having issues. They said they couldn't help unless we payed them $*** to fix it.
I bought the car back in ***, when I first test drove it I heard a ticking noise from the motor and the guy that was selling the car to me said that it was doing that because it was a four cylinder car and needed more force to push the car. (Mind you he was only *** at the time, and when I went back he had left the company) couple months in I was driving the car and a friend of mine noticed the ticking and told me I had to change the oil. I went to my dad and he said that the oil had already been changed. We then went to the dealership and they took a look at the car and confirmed that it has to do with the pistons. They told us that they wouldn't be able to do anything because we had made the first oil change and that it could have been us that messed up the car. He went on to saying that the best they could do was to fix the car for about $***- $***. We decided to wait and see if anyone else could fix the car for cheaper but no one wants to risk fixing it since the car most likely needs a brand new motor. The dealership told us that they would send over information and a set money amount on fixing the car and they never sent me anything. They also were supposed to reimburse me for the gas that I put into the car they had lend me while they were taking a look at mine and they never reimbursed me as well.
At the moment I have a little over $*** left on this car to pay. It is a ***. All I ask is that they fix the car at no charge since they were the ones that sold me a car like this or if they could reimburse me the money for the car so I can pay it off the bank that I financed through so I can start over with another car.
The *** Service Manager has relayed his response to me. Ms. did drop her car off at the *** store. After inspecting the vehicle, it was discovered that the lower engine oil pan had been removed recently, and when it was put back in, they did not do a very good job of resealing it. Because this was not work performed by Briggs, we could not have prevented this from happening. The leaking oil pan deprived the engine of the oil it needs to run properly, therefore it caused the engine to make terrible noises, and after a short time with insufficient oil, the motor was ruined. We priced out a used motor with extremely low miles, and offered to discount the labor installation costs to our internal rates to perform the work needed to get the replacement engine into the vehicle. She said that she would let us know if she wanted to proceed at a later date.
