Review: Contacted club after issues with contract in January/February. Due to situation pursuant to crisis of Hurricane Sandy, requested release from contract. After many attempts to contact management, finally was able to get contact; manager offered contract suspension for 60 days, and was also told by the manager that cancellation of contract could occur but would require 60 day notice and penalty fee of $50. Management would not give me owner's name or information to appeal. Appeared at club on February 22 to execute suspension, and also submitted a formal letter by hand addressed to the owner on February 22 requesting personal follow up/contact and also formally giving notice of early termination of contract effective February 27, 2013. Received no further contact from either the owner or anyone else at the club. Had therefore assumed cancellation accepted and ceased any use of facility or any other resolution. Received a notification from [redacted] which handles payments for Brielle Sports Club, dated 7/7/13 requesting new billing info (I had stopped payments from credit card to them). Financial company will not accept my letters of termination and stated management must "acknowledge" or validate, and suggested I contact club. I informed them that management was not responsive and that I had made many attempts to do so. Went to club on 7/17/13, manager not in. Asked for manager to call. Have not received any attempt at phone call in two days. If the management had responded appropriately to my letter of February 22 indicating intent for early termination, and had indicated then that any dispute with this, I might have had an opportunity to transfer or find other resolution. Absent their response,having provided termination in writing, assumed accepted (letter delivered in person/no issue with failure of mail system). Management's failure to respond does not obligate me to payments or continued contract.Desired Settlement: Immediate release from contract with no fees/further contact from either the club or financial organization. Contacted the member of the facility. She was demanded we cancel out her agreement in which she signed so she can "help" friends and people effected from the storm. We are the only club in the area that allowed people to freeze their account without a charge while they handled there home matter. [redacted] was contacted by me numerous times about freezing the contract. She did not like that answer. I explained to her that while her jesture was nice to her friends she still has a obligation with the club. This is not good enough for her so she felt the need to take it to the Revdex.com. thank you [redacted]
