In reference to [redacted], we performed a Patch Plug Combo, we do not just plug tires, so his statement of it being a plug is incorrect. The wheel was removed for repair. [redacted] (manager) spoke with the customer on Monday and informed him that the part had been ordered and was due on 02/10/2015....

The part has now been sent to Perth Amboy, however there is still one more piece we are waiting for. Dealer was contacted again on 02/11/2015 and we will have a definite answer as to when the second additional piece will be in. We will make good on these repairs and for the damages and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused the customer, We take pride in what we do and just want the final result to be a positive one. We will make it a point to contact the customer on 02/12/2015 and inform him when the second part will be in and get the vehicle to the shop for repairs. Review: On January 13th , 2015 my car was brought in for nail in tire repair, I was told that there will be patch and plug placed in the tire, shop never removed tire for patch but did place a plug in the tire, below industry standard for tire repair. While lifting the car on the lift, mechanic damaged underlining of the car because of improper placement of lift points. Damaged was brought up to attention of [redacted], store manager. 3 weeks after report for damage was filed, business not returning phone calls and not providing repairs for damage. Manager stated that he will order new parts and replace broken ones.Desired Settlement: I would like Brakeorama to provide me with new parts to replace broken ones or refund on the estimate for caused damage.

Review: They struggled to fix my car. I came in for an alignment. after hours, I said I had to leave soon. They said ok and then when I was ready to test the car to leave he said it was still not right. but, I had to pay to get my car to leave even though it was not completed or aligned. I was also charged for parts that I did not need for an alignment.

In the state of NJ you are supposed to provide a readout from the alignment machine that shows how the car is before and after. They stated they don't do that.... very strange. but this would justify their work and the need for parts.

finally, after arguing they said to come back the next day and they would fix it. I had the manager right it on the invoice when I paid.

I returned the next day and they refused to align or work anymore without charging me more. They should not have charged me at all if they could not perform an alignment in the first place or if they don't have a certified alignment machine.Desired Settlement: A refund of the charges and a verification of their alignment machine with records of my cars alignment at the time.

Review: Purchased 2 tires on [redacted] 2014... on Feb. [redacted] noticed tire pressure going low and had to add air twice. Had someone check out and noticed bubble on tire. On Feb. [redacted] brought car with tires back to consumer and he claims this was due to a pot hole (because of the bad weather of late) and would NOT do anything for me. I spent $211.90 for each tire purchased within two weeks. Left business very upset that I spent this money at his place of business and would not help me out. After a few words [redacted] from shop called me twice and THREATEN me that if I was seen on his property, he would personally have me removed.... threats these days are not taken lightly!Desired Settlement: Since I will not deal with this shop, I would like to request a refund. If copy of invoice is needed, I have that to provide.

Attention: The Revdex.com,

February 27, 2014

On January

28th , 2014, a customer purchased two [redacted] tires from our

[redacted] location. On February 10th

the customer called the shop and stated that there was a bubble on the tire. At

the time of this incident, there had been several snowstorms and many potholes

were surfacing on the roadways. Many people have been experiencing similar

problems with tires due to the very poor condition of the roadways.. The

customer was irate over the phone and was cursing excessively. The manager tried to speak with her husband

but was encountering the same irate conversation. The customer then came to the location but

did not want to hear the cause of the problem and started cursing inside the

shop, we would have been happy to see if we could help her if she would have

let us. The customer than sat out in the parking lot for 20 minutes. She then

accosted one of our other customers by jumping out of her vehicle, grabbing the

customer and shouting “ you will be robbed!”.

A second incident occurred right after when a new customer was entering

the building, the irate customer sped towards the building, slammed on her

brakes and shouted “they will rob you!”, at this point the new customer became

shaken and left . The irate customer

wrote in her statement that “He(shop manager) would have me personally removed”,

that is incorrect. The manager did say to the customer that he would call the

police, and that THEY(the police) would have her removed from the premises. Our

shop manager never threatened the customer.

Our [redacted] shop manager has many repeat customers and has never

encountered a situation like this before.

Brake-O-Rama would be happy to help her and any of our

customers but we do need to be able to have a civil conversation.

Please let us know if we can further assist.

Thank You,

Review: I was at brakeorama on 2/1/2014 to get new brakes. The service adviser told me that if I get new rotors and pads they will have lifetime warranty but that they will cost me $801.41 .I had no problem paying but I told them I wanted the best brakes available to what he responded " they have to be the best for as to give you lifetime warranty" .After the work was performed they give me my bill and I told them my plate numbrers where not correct and they refused to fix it, also no lifetime warranty documents where given. I took the car home and the brakes where noisy and the car took a lot longer to stop . I went back 3 times and they always took the car inside and told me they did something but everything still the same. I have 2 kids and my car brakes are not performing the way they supposed to if I get involved in an accident it will be Brakeorama's fault .Desired Settlement: I want to take my car to another brake company have them inspected and fix and for Brakeorama to pay for it.

Also for Breakorama to stop telling customers that they give lifetime warranty on the brakes when they don't

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: They are liying , I went back 3 times not 1 ,no paper work was given to me any of those times. like I said before the 3 rd time they told me that they installed new brakes again but,I did not see any improvement. They still noisy and take longer to stop that my worn out brakes. Also what about not wanting to change my plates that where wrong on my invoice? What about the lifetime warranty papers? If they did nothing wrong , what is the problem about having somebody else check the brakes?Even if I have to pay for new brakes at another location I just dont want them to keep lying to their customers and using cheap quality on something so important as brakes.Thank you very much for your help.

Review: I brought my car in to diagnose a noise coming from my tire, I was told that I needed a wheel balanced and I agreed to this service. As the technician was bringing my car down from the lift, the lift did not fully retract to the ground. The technician and manager then attempted remove my car from the lift and while doing so they cracked my front bumper and possibly did some damage to the under carriage of my vehicle too.Desired Settlement: Upper management at Brake-O-Rama has had my information for almost two weeks and I have yet to receive a phone call from them. I have made several attempts to make contact but have repeatedly been told that I will get called back or that the person that I need to speak to [redacted]) is in meetings all day.

I would like to have Brake-O-Rama's insurance information so that I may initiate a claim with their insurance company to have my vehicle repaired.

Response:

The customer has a low profile vehicle. This did not happen due to a lift not lowered. We are not sure if the damage occurred at our shop or before he brought the vehicle in. We asked the customer to go to an approved body shop so that we could have as estimate and have the vehicle repaired. He refused, and instead went elsewhere and gave us an estimate that was not in line with the damage. We then asked the customer to drop off the vehicle, so that we could get an estimate that we could compare to the estimate he received. The customer refused the offer and unfortunately put us in a position to not be able to resolve the issue any further at this point. We are always ready to assist our customers but we do need some cooperation. We are open to all help to resolve the issue.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: My car was in fact damaged at the Brake-O-Rama in Ridgewood as witnessed by the manager on duty AND the tech that was working on my car. They will both attest to the fact that the lift did not fully retract to ground level which caused my front bumper to crack in two spots as it scrapped along the lift as the car was being backed up from it. After the incident happened the manager even called his boss ([redacted]) to advise him of this occurrence, [redacted] was given my contact information yet didn't call me until a month after this happened as a result of a phone call that he received from a [redacted] after I attempted to file a report. So despite Brake-O-Rama stating that "This did not happen due to a lift not lowered" they still agreed to take my car to an auto body shop of their choosing???? If it did not happen there, why would they offer to pay for the repairs? Furthermore, their offer was at an auto body shop of their choosing that did not even see my car!!! How can a competent estimator say that it will cost so much to fix something without even seeing the damaged vehicle??? I was also never told whether their body shop would replace or simply repair my bumper which is why I decided to have the car fixed properly through an auto body shop through my auto insurance company.

All I ever wanted from [redacted] was the name of their insurance company so that I could file a claim. After calling them many time since this occurred on 5/15/14 and basically getting the run-around from [redacted], I decided to take matters into my own hands. It took the auto body shop 2 days to fix my car, I had to get a rental as well.

Brake-O-Rama's behavior during this incident has been outright appalling. I would now like Brake-O-Rama to reimburse me of my insurance deductible ($1000) and what I paid to rent a car for the days that my car was in the shop ($13.67).
