Vehicle damage. The automatic car wash stripped paint off of the bumper. I notified the on duty employee Tony immediately. I was reassured not to worry I should not call the police because their insurance would cover cost. The owner *** gave me the run around for a week before telling me he will not pay for the damage his car wash caused.
Repair I would like the repair cost paid by the owner *** as expected.
Miss *** has been less than forthcoming with her assessment of her complaint. We have owned and operated this facility for 19 years, washed thousands of cars, trucks and boats without EVER stripping paint off any vehicle.
After being notified of a complaint, I called *** right away and asked to meet her at the wash so I could look at her car. She informed me she had a quote to repaint the bumper for $850. I asked her to meet me at *** so he could give us an expert's opinion of what happened. *** looked at the bare metal of the bumper and said it was obvious someone had repainted it without properly priming it. Therefore, the paint would eventually detach.
*** gave *** a quote of $285 to repaint properly. I graciously offered to pay $85 of that even though our carwash was not responsible.
At the entry to the wash, it clearly states we are not responsible for any non-factory installed items, which includes after market painting.
My offer Of $85 towards the $285 still stands.
