I've been a costumer with this company for the last 8 months. I took a short break because the lash artist I needed was not available and I saw someone else. I scheduled a fill with them and was never informed of the policy that they do not fill other artist lashes and the fill was done anyways. Unfortunately I was left with painful and unflattering lashes and nothing but a 'not my problem? from the owner. If this is a standard policy my fill should not have been done and I would have scheduled a removal and new set. I've been receiving lashes consistently for almost 4 years now and have never come across anything like this. The artist should have told me that she was unable to complete my fill and I would have understood knowing the risks with lashes and I would have scheduled for removal versus a fill.
Product_Or_Service: Lash services
Refund I would like a refund for my services due to the fact that a policy was broken and the staff did not appropriately Inform me of the risks regarding this type of situation. The staff told her supervisor that I was informed but unfortunately this is a lie. As an experienced lash customer I have always followed the recommendations of my lash artist and if this was the case I would have followed through with her recommendations.

The client saw us from March 2019 to September 2019 for Individual Lash Extensions. After going to another service provider for 6 months, she scheduled an appointment came in to Bodi Barr on Feb 18th 2020 for a 90 min (3 week) fill in for lashes done by another lash artist and upon arrival and seeing the work which was not individual extensions, but cluster lashes which involves attaching 3 or more extensions to each individual natural lash.
She was advised by our lash artist that we do not do clusters because they are unsafe and it was recommended that she have them removed and start with a fresh set after letting her lashes recover from the previous work done by someone else because this was unhealthy for her lashes and could cause damage.
The client was told that our normal policy is to not take new clients with lash extensions done by someone else because we can not be sure of the products used or the quality of the work done. Because she had been a previous client of ours my lash artist agreed to accommodate her and fill in her lash extensions but advised her that as her natural lashes grew out the weight of the clusters could possibly cause damage to her natural lashes and at that point she may not be able to continue with lash extension until her natural lashes recovered. The client was aware of the risk of damage that the previous lash artist caused and willingly and insistently continued with the service.
She then returned to us on March 3 for a 60 min (2 week) fill and the same lash artist expressed her concern for the health of the clients lashes. The client stated that she has had lashes for may years and again insisted on continuing with the service. She left Bodi Barr pleased with the work that had been done, and then called on March 11th to complain that she was having discomfort with the lashes and demanded a refund.
One of the owners then contacted the client personally and explained that the discomfort she was experiencing was from the weight of the cluster lashes that someone else had done, and that she should contact them and have her lashes removed. The owner explained that this is why we usually don't fill in someone else's work because we don't want another lash artist subpar work, and any damaged caused to be our responsibility.
We have had excellent reviews and ratings from all of our clients and have always been able to ensure that our clients are completely satisfied with the results they receive from Bodi Barr.
We refused to refund the money for service to this particular client because she was made aware of the policy by both the lash technician and the Spa manager when she was in and we didn't feel that it was our responsibility. The client then went on Social Media and left a very nasty review to which the owner replied very professionally trying to explain the reason.
As the owners of a relatively new small business, we take the satisfaction of our clients very seriously. This client saw another lash artist for 6 months and came back to Bodi Barr to fix a problem. The discomfort and dissatisfaction is caused by subpar work done by someone else. Bodi Barr nor the lash artist employed by us should be held responsible for it.
As previously mentioned, I was never made aware that there could be a risk by filling my lashes. I was also never made awAre of the policy that pertains to not filling other artist work. On both occasions the artist filled my lashes without any discussion regarding the safety or integrity of my lashes. If there had been I would have followed the recommendations of the lash artist just like I have done on every other occasion with employees of this company. Due to the lack of consideration and blatant lies by the staff I have filed a suit in small claim court. I am very disappointed that a lash artist would make untruthful statements regarding a client who recommended this company regularly.
