I bought a car from these people.
They treated me like a street beggar!
I was absolutely mortified!
They banned me from ALL of their locations and refused my promised free services.
They broke their contract and are offering too little.
I am writing in response to a complaint submitted to you by a former customer (complain ID# ***). The complaint alleges that our company treated him poorly, banned him from doing business with us, and did not provide promised services. The complainant was advised that he was no longer welcome to service his car with us due to his harassing and aggressive behavior toward multiple team members and his requests that fell outside of our established policies and procedures. As a one-time goodwill gesture in July of this year, we offered a check to cover ten years of State Inspections but that offer was refused by the complainant. He felt it was inadequate and demanded $1,484.97 to compensate for inspections and car washes. In August, we agreed to provide him the amount requested of $1,484.97 but this was again refused for being inadequate, despite it being the amount he demanded. It is our responsibility to provide a safe environment for our customers to shop and for our team members to work. This client’s behavior and treatment of our employees prohibits a safe work space. At this time, Bobby Rahal Auto Group will have no further contact with the complainant and will not agree to any additional terms presented.
Sincerely,
Brian B General ManagerBobby Rahal Honda of State College2796 W College Ave, State College, PA 1680www.bobbyrahal.com
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. The settlement offer made by Bobby Rahal Automotive
Group included a mandatory blanket release of ALL legal liability. In the settlement they suggested I seek legal advice
before signing, which I did.
The attorney I consulted suggested I NOT sign
the waver for such a relatively small amount of money, considering that there
were several other valuable promised and warranted items that this release attempted
to include.
In the interest of settling
this excruciatingly uncomfortable ordeal with Bobby Rahal, I would be open to the
initial settlement amount if it did NOT exclude my remaining “Roadside Warranty,”
promised with the set of four Continental tires I got at Bobby Rahal Honda of
State College.
If they insist on a blanket
release of all legal liability, as before, an additional amount of money not
more than $300.00 would seem fair to me—in case of tire failure. I agree to forgo the free promised value of loaner-vehicle for all of my services-- as outlined in Mr. B's voicemail message.
I also need assurances that the
“TST” interior and exterior protection warranty I purchased with my new vehicle
would not be affected. If it would be, further negotiations would be required,
as this warranty continues through July of 2020.
It is truly unfortunate that
it has come to this. I hope Mr. B and his colleagues understand
that for me this will NOT be over until equitably settled.
Very Truly Yours.

We received notice that the complainant has reviewed our response to Complaint ID. He has determined that our response does not resolve his complaint so we offer the following statements.
Yet again, we have reviewed all of the facts surrounding multiple incidents with the same complainant dating back to Summer 2018. In each interaction he had with representatives from our dealership, other Rahal dealerships, corporate support staff, and even with external business partners, he has claimed to have been mistreated or been disrespected simply because he was denied requests for exceptions to policies that were explicitly and clearly stated. When he disagreed, he would claim disrespect and use other inflammatory language to try for approval in direct violation with a prescribed policy. Often he would reach out to others uninvolved to make a case with a certain one-sided bias. Each and every time his demands were not met, he threatened legal action, threatened to contact the Revdex.com, threatened to post negative social media comments, or threatened to post negative online reviews, etc. At this point, we have been more than fair throughout all of these interactions. The line was crossed when his behavior threatened team members and made them feel uncomfortable; at that point, he was asked not to do business with the Rahal dealerships. As previously stated, we owe it to our team to provide them a work environment in which they feel safe.
Specifically the complainant has a question about retaining a "roadside warranty". I believe he is referring to the "road hazard protection" coverage that applies to tires purchased at the dealership. Tires were installed by us in September 2018 after the tire manufacturer (Goodyear) provided 60% coverage and the customer was only required to pay for 40% of the total cost. Those tires would have only 9 months of coverage remaining if the customer qualified for the "road hazard protection" coverage. But, to obtain this coverage customers are required to have an alignment done on their vehicle at the time of tire installation. Since the complainant chose not to pay for alignment, he does not qualify for any road hazard protection. This policy is clearly stated; refer to the link below.

Regarding assurances that the TST protection warranty would not be affected, we can confirm that since this product's warranty is provided by the manufacturer, TST Corporation, the end of the business relationship between Bobby Rahal Auto Group and the complainant would have no adverse affect on that warranty and the coverage would continue as outlined in his original contract with TST.
Legal action has been threatened several times by the complainant for this and other unfounded claims. The complainant has already posted negative public comments on social media and on public review sites such as Yelp. At this point, we have nothing further to offer and will not accept any additional requests for additional compensation. We stand by our decision and all previous correspondence related to this and any prior matters.

Dear Revdex.com,
Complaint ID: ***
I’ve attempted to keep my response shorter than I would have preferred, due to likely legal action against the respondents.Other than “threatening” legal action— which, especially when warranted, has the potential to make anyone feel “uncomfortable”— I never threatened any Bobby Rahal Automotive Group “team member.”
This brand new baseless allegation was custom-grasped out of thin air and deplorably stuffed into their rhetorical response once Brian B and his fellow Bobby Rahal Group respondents faced the intense scrutiny of the Revdex.com, et al.
Obviously, this type of legal rhetoric is designed to deflect away from the respondents by creating a “he says, she says” situation that typically can’t be proven or disproven.
Regrettably for the respondents, I have Mr. B’s June 18, 2018 voicemail that makes no mention of any threatening behavior. In the message, Mr. B begrudgingly admits that he was overridden by his immediate supervisor, Ken Gray, that I would be allowed to continue to service at Bobby Rahal Honda of State College, and that I would be eligible for a loaner for (all) future scheduled service.
Brad L, Vice President of the Bobby Rahal Automotive Group, ultimately decided to permanently “re-ban” me from all of their locations.Time will tell if Bobby Rahal’s response is proven to be defamatory.
I also retain recordings from two legally recorded phone calls Mr. Michael C, Service Manager at Bobby Rahal Honda of State College. In the second one, he admits to engaging in “unkind behavior” (I don’t remember the actual words used) towards me, but justifies it (kind of like a child) because I allegedly did the same.--- ---Bobby Rahal conveniently omitted to write about the fact that they refused to honor their new tire price-match warranty on what I consider to be a technicality as well. Only my “threatening” to report them and take legal action got them to partially make it right. http://tires.bobbyrahal.com/best-price-tire-guarantee/#bp-top--- ---The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company indeed replaced all four of my tires under a pro-rated warranty. The tires came with my new 2015 Honda Accord, purchased From Bobby Rahal Honda late July 2015. Regrettably, they were very prematurely and irreparably damaged by “dry-rot” (I believe that’s what it’s called).Goodyear generously stood by their promised pro-rated warranty. I believe that Bobby Rahal Honda charged me their full retail installation price. No one from Bobby Rahal recommended an alignment.
This once again seems like a very convenient way for the respondents to shirk their promised written warranty via a “technicality.”On the Bobby Rahal Honda website under “WHAT’S NOT COVERED?” (http://tires.bobbyrahal.com/road-hazard-protection/#rh-top), it states that: “If tire damage occurs due to tires being out of alignment, accidents, vandalism, racing, off-roading, flooding, etc.”
Please help me understand how not obtaining a tire-alignment when I had my brand new Goodyear tires installed blanket-disqualifies me from any and all promised benefits of the aforementioned “road-hazard-protection.”--- ---I have more to share, but will end today’s response by pointing out that Bobby Rahal Automotive Group promised me much with a vehicle purchase, on its website (https://www.bobbyrahalhonda.com/why-choose-bobby-rahal-honda.htm) and elsewhere.
Regrettably, Bobby Rahal Automotive Group ultimately reneged on all of their “promises.” They broke their contract with me and defamed me after I attempted to share my experiences. I didn’t accept what they offered me, as an ostensibly fair settlement, and they are now offering me nothing at all.It is my opinion that Mr. Bryan B, Bobby Rahal Honda of State College and the Bobby Rahal Automotive Group should be ashamed of themselves/itself.--- ---Dear Revdex.com:Please don’t quietly close my case. I respectfully request that you share my side of this story so that others can make a more informed decision prior to any interaction with Mr. Bryan B and the Bobby Rahal Automotive Group.
