Very happy with Blue Sky Chimney Sweeps. Rico was very nice and left no residue from the cleaning.
Right on time, very thorough, knowledgeable, and polite!
The technician who arrived waited almost a half hour for me to arrive as I forgot the appointment; that scored points right from the start. He was friendly, efficient, and explained everything very well.
The gentleman who came out was very knowledgeable and gave recommendations. I would highly recommend this company.
Arrived on-time and took of the inspection and cleaning quickly.
Thank you very much for sharing your positive Blue Sky experience! We appreciate it very much! E
The team was efficient in completing the chimney liner and masonry repair. I appreciate the focus and commitment to getting the work done effectively and efficiently and with minimal disruption to me and my house.

My husband and I bought a new home in January of 2017. It is very old, built in 1890 and has a very long chimney. I got a recommendation off the Nextdoor App for Blue Sky.They had a special on cleaning and inspection, around $65. I was thrilled and had it scheduled immediately. The young guy that came to do the work was great and very professional.
I received an estimate for $2925.00 to have a new liner put in. We could not afford to spend that amount right away as we were new homeowners. We saved our money, and I called them again this month-9/2018. They said they had to come out and re-inspect it to make sure nothing had changed, and it had been almost 2 years. Ok. This time it cost 182.56 to be inspected. I guess I really got a good deal before.. I just got my new estimate for the exact same thing-a new liner and this time it is $10,300!!I was told that the business has better trained masons now. That is TRIPLE the cost. I will NOT be able to afford it now. I am outraged that it could be this much more.
This is the owner of Blue Sky and I'd like to address this matter. There's a very significant misunderstanding that has occurred here. I take full responsibility for this. The fact is that Mother Nature and the brutal Minnesota weather in almost two years time can do very extensive damage to a chimney and that's what we found with this chimney when we performed a new inspection recently almost two years later after our original inspection. The 2017 estimate was for a liner only and the 2018 estimate is for a liner and additionally some very extensive chimney work. Our price for the liner is approximately the same as the 2017 price but the very extensive chimney work is the reason for the overall increase. Also it's very important to note that new homeowners should have the fireplace and chimney checked prior to purchasing their home as this liner was a fire code violation when these homeowners moved in and this situation could have been avoided. And all homeowners should follow the National Fire Protection Association 211 standards and recommendations and have their chimney checked annually as an annual chimney inspection can help to avoid possible additional chimney damage.
This company came to our house for a cleaning and said we needed major repair work. Gave a quote within hours for $7,800. Felt like a scam, but our house is older and we use our fireplace alot. It was plausible. I had it checked out with our insurance company and other vendors. We did need repairs. Decided to use this company as they had a good Revdex.com rating and other recommendations.
Gave them a $2,340 deposit which they had for months before doing the work. I had to follow up to get on the schedule.
The work itself was done in 2 days. The crew was very nice and professional.
The issue was the final payment. Within an hour I had a phone call and several emails for the money. I had wanted to wait until we could use the fireplace to verify nothing else needed to be done ( 3 day cure process) However, they had a guy come to our door the next day at 8:00am (Saturday) to get the check. They cashed it immediately.
I still can't check to see if the fireplace works. If this wasn't a scam, it sure left me feeling like it was. I am writing this to warn people to proceed with caution.

I did a lot of research before hiring Blue Sky to reline my chimney and tuckpoint the exterior. On paper they were an excellent company, but it went very wrong on site. The flues needed to be broken and removed via the inside of the house. The opening was not properly closed off and as the sooty flues fell, the seal which was supposed to protect the inside of the house failed and there was a thick cloud of sooty dust inside the house. Needless to say, it was everywhere. Luckily I removed and covered some upholstered furniture, but the lampshades, floors and every other exposed surface was coated in greasy, dusty soot. It was my job to clean up the residue left after they vacuumed. The firebox was supposed to be repointed, and there were deep voids where mortar should have been replaced and wasnt, there were voids in the cement coating applied to the interior of the chimney, the crown was installed lopsided and the tuckpointing consisted of mixing mortar and applying it in a haphazard manner. There were areas left untouched, not smoothed, mortar was not well matched, no grinding out of existing mortar. Just generally a sloppy amatuer job. When I contacted the owner he agreed the work was substandard and immediately promised to MAKE IT RIGHT. That meant sending out the original crew, which I completely opposed. I said if they didn't get it right the first time, I didn't want them back. I was told THEY WERE HAVING A BAD DAY. Poor workmanship is not the result of a bad day, it is either lack of skill or complete indifference. Neither of which I wanted repeated on my house. I was disappointed in the owner standing behind these guys, but he kept telling me they were excellent masons. I responded, THEN HOW COME THEY DID SUCH A BAD JOB ON MY HOUSE?? Finally it was agreed that he would send a different crew who had to completely, from top to bottom, rework the entire job. The owner was more than gracious and willing to do 'WHATEVER IT TAKES" to make sure I was satisfied. The job is complete, but some of the sloppy remnants of mortar remain on the brick face from the first crew. In the end the job was finished and is satisfactory, but it was nothing but a headache and to get to that point, so for that reason, I would not recommend. There are other contractors who would do it right the first time. GET REFERENCES

Your response does not address the concerns I outlined, it is merely an advertisement. If I could post the pictures I have next to the claims you make, it would make it easier for the consumer to make an informed decision, based on evidence.
