Blue River Auto Sales

On July 11th, 2019, I bought a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe from Steve F at Blue River Auto Sales. he showed me a bill from *** as proof that work had been done on the car. Only a couple of days later, I noticed that the fuel gauge was giving me inaccurate readings. I would fill the tank up and it'd still say it was either half a tank or empty. Sometimes even when I'd been driving for a couple of days, it'd say it was completely full. I texted Mr. F, and all he suggested was to fill the tank up and see what happens. I kept doing that, but the issue continued. On July 30th, I took it in to *** (a mechanic whom I know I can trust) so they could look at that issue. They ran codes on the car and came up with multiple that had apparently been cleared by Mr. F and his mechanic, most likely so they could sell the car at a higher price.

The codes that *** discovered include:

Fuel level sensor A Circuit High Input (***)
Catalyst system efficiency below threshold, bank 2 (***)
Knock sensor 2 Circuit (***)
Wheel speed sensor Front-Lh open/short (***)
Occupant Classification System Mat Defect (***)

The mechanics at *** said that, including labor, the costs to replace necessary parts would be $1,721.41. After visiting the mechanic, I drove directly to Blue River Auto Sales to talk to Mr. F about the situation. The "open" sign was on, but the door was locked and he was nowhere to be found. I called and texted him that same day, and emailed him on August 1st, and have still gotten zero responses. I believe that my parents and I have been illegally and immorally taken advantage of by this dealership. As a college-age girl who has to live paycheck-to-paycheck, this situation has torn a huge hole in my wallet and I hope we can get this resolved as soon as possible.
