Knowledge of over payment and not giving a refund in a timely manner
I went to Blue Ridge Dermatology on 1/7/at 8am I had a good experience at this appointment and paid the $copay I then went to my second appointment 2/3/at 8am I found out at this appointment that the insurance did not cover the first appointment and I made full payment of what was the balance given to me at the time ($166.42) I spoke with my insurance on two occasions (2/3/& 2/29/16) concerning the non- payment and was told they were going to resubmit the claims I then get a bill in the mail I do not understand for $I call and spoke with *** on 2/29/ She thought it was for the copay so I provide the info for the two copays I made at my visits She said she would pass this info on to the billing person I call back to follow up with the issue of the $and spoke with the billing person *** Her and I did not have a good call as the phone keeps dropping the call and she says I o
Daughter is a student - gets sent to the dermatologist for a rash on arm Gives them her insurance card through her school While in office for rash, Doc notices a callus on finger and says he can freeze it off He dabs a swab on it and she leaves She was there for a rash on arm, they treated something unrelated, then charges the insurance company for a surgical procedure and an office visit Insurance does not cover an office visit at same time as a surgical procedureSends daughter to collections Parent calls to "work out a discount due to circumstances"Billing Manager, Jean, states that it is already with collections and she cannot do something for one person and not for all Gave the opportunity to Blue Ridge Dermatology to come to an amicable solution Even after giving Jean the opportunity to fist speak with the Doc before making that decision, she chose to attempt to make no agreement but complete payment This company, or perhaps the office staff only, are taking advantage of young people who do not know any better - New adults (new year olds) are prime targets to be taken advantage of - They do not yet know to discuss charges before a procedure - especially when the doc says to do it Incredibly disappointed More so after explaining the situation rationally and getting shut down flatly So beyond unacceptable and unethical
