This company is TERRIBLE! I spoke with a rep trying to order a door bell camera. The rep placed my order. My order was shipped out ... Nothing came. I called UPS and asked about my package. They stated that the address that was given to them was incorrect. I called ADT and they put in for another order. AGAIN, they put in the wrong address. I called and spoke with a rep. They sent out another package. I recieved the package, when I open it , its another system that I didn't agree to and they was NO door bell camera. I called back and spoke with a rep about cancelling. The rep stated he would send out a camera. I told him to forget about it and I will send back their equipment. A FEW DAYS LATER THEY SENT A WEBCAM WHEN I CLEARLY TOLD THEM I WANTED TO CANCEL. THEY ARE NOW TRYING TO FORCE ME TO KEEP THIS STUFF OR CHARGE ME $2000.00. THEY ARE SCAMMING PEOPLE! I TRIED SENDING THE EQUIPMENT BACK AND THEY SENT IT BACK! THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE! OH I FORGOT TO MENTION I WAS STILL IN THE GRACE PERIOD TO RETURN MY EQUIPMENT.

The absolute worst security service out there. I am not safe with it at all. I've called in every month since I've gotten the service. My device goes on and off throughout the night , the app doesn't work properly. My key pad has went out. It is not the most reliable service which is pretty scary for a security device. This is a complete nightmare.

I have never been so dissatisfied with a company in my life. I moved into a new residence where there was a old ADT system that I was told could not be removed, no problem. The system began to go off at 2:30am, because it's inactive I didn't know what to do. I called ADT and spoke with a rep by the name of ***. I let her know my issue and she let me know there was a plug that I needed to disconnect that would be in my garage, basement or attic, none of which I have. After letting her know that I didn't have any of those and there was not socket on the wall of the keypad or hidden inside the closet that it was near she started to get real rude. Shouting about how I wasn't listening and needed to look harder. Trying to remain calm because I know how far I can go I asked her to relax and let her know I'm trying to help her help me. She AGAIN told me to check the basement that does not exist, I asked to speak with another rep and she placed me on hold. This hold took me back to the original selection menu which then took me back to ***, once connected I said I believe we just spoke and she hung up on me. I called back and spoke with Latoya who transferred me to another young lady who transferred me to *** who transferred me to Morgan introduced herself as the supervisor who promised to "take care of it". Because I'm not sure how true that is, here I am. This is not the first issue I've had with this company and if it wasn't for the $1200 fee I would no longer have their services. As a PAYING customer this entire situation was uncaused for, unprofessional and dangerous. If this was a real emergency, hanging up could have potentially put my family and my life in danger.

Billing and closed account.
ADT is billing us for service we no longer have. We have asked for them to cancel it since January 1,2020. They still have not cancelled our service at our residence *** circle , *** , *** . We had contacted ADT many times to cancel the service at this location since their services were no longer needed.We still have services at our business location , as 7/6/20 we still not been able to cancel the service and we are getting Past Due letters , email and call , but we get no help from no body on this company , we spoke to account manager on the cancellation department they say that they will send email with the cancellation and we need to email back to confirm but we still waiting , call back again and same story again but no answer , this people transfer you to other department but don't do anything to help you.we can name the people who we spoke over the phone and they all account manager even on the billing department , they have a lot of manager is my guess.
We are being billed each month since January for service we no longer have. They have made it very difficult to close the account and seems like very dishonest business .

Desired Outcome

We would just like the account closed and have the charges from January 2020 to the present date removed

I will not accept the response from this business until I have received a letter directly from ADT via email or mail stating the closure of the account. I have been told over the phone it has been closed, but still received bills. I need proof of account closure.

Don't buy,it will cheat you on price. I bought a security system and also window/door sensors(each $9) from blue by adt,then I found motion sensor not good as I wish,so I decided to switch to door/window sensor.Then I found I have to pay $15 for each sensors.So with 20 sensors,it's even more expensive than I just purchase a new system with sensors.It's even more unbelievable when I called them,they just replied like that's price,take it or not,that's the way they treat old customers.Don't feel it's a honest and decent company,will cancel monitoring service.

Their customer service agents don't perform any of the issues that you call about, they don't offer troubleshoot they just send out agents without giving you an estimate and charge you excessive amounts. I have had to call at least 2-3 times a week for the same issue with my account and no one fixes anything. Please shop around and they want to charge you almost $1000 to let you out of your contract without stating that in the terms.

They deactivated my account due to payment issue. After I went on their website and made the payment, on the receipt it was stated that I had to call their customer service line to reactivate my account. Since I no longer needed their service I never called. A month later they automatically charged my credit card without any notification. Even when I logged into my account, it still showed the account was deactivated. I called their customer service and they refused to refund the amount that they had illegally taken from my credit card, even though they could not show any proof that I had called to reactivate my account. Do not fall for this business.

LifeShield alerted police and contacted us when our back door got busted in by someone. The siren was loud enough to scare them off before the police arrived. Glad that LifeShield was reliable in that situation.

I should have read these reviews BEFORE buying a lifeshield alarm system 8 years ago!! After about 5 years, the system stopped working and has never worked in the past about 3 years. Their equipment was no longer supported because I had old components, and it could NOT connect to the internet. Therefore, I had no connection to the central monitoring station for years now. I had been trying to cancel the contract for a year and a half as of now. I disputed their credit card charges every single month for a year and a half. My relative was originally paying for the service for me and his name was still associated with the account. This person is now terminally ill and can no longer speak to people about business matters. I explained the situation to Lifeshield on the phone one time for an hour or so. They asked for a power of attorney to cancel their service. He was not even paying the service anymore as I had already changed it to my own credit card! Meanwhile, there is NO reason they should be able to hold you to a contract that is UNLIMITED in duration! That is not even a legal contract. Nowadays I just use the system for the alarm noise in case someone breaks in the apartment. There has been no monitoring for a year and a half, in other words, there was No service to pay for!

Amazing home security system! I have been a customer since 2012, and have never had a single problem or false alarm. LifeShield equipment is excellent quality and good looking - very modern and sleek in appearance.

I love the app and getting text and email alerts that let me know when my kids get home from school and the dog walker has come and gone (because each has different security codes - I know who is coming and going and when).

It's so easy to set with the keychain remote, or from your phone app - simple and quick.

Best of all - the monthly monitoring prices were the lowest I could find.

I've barely need customer service in 6 years, but when I call, they are always very helpful. Highly recommend.

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM. ALWAYS HAVING CONNECTION ISSUES AND PRODUCT ISSUES.

I am from the Houston area and I called to order service from this company and they state that you have 3 days to cancel, I called and cancelled the next day. They charged me for shipping the equipment of which I never received, I called to inquire about the refund of the deposit of my refund and was told since the merchandise shipped out I was charged for the shipping with no refund, When I spoke with the rep the day before, she stated that the equipment had not shipped yet. They are insisting on not refunding me my money. This is the worst security system. Do not fall for the promises.

NEGATIVE experience! My retired Navy veteran saw their advertisement in the mail and went online to get more info. He signed us up for it BUT was unaware we would be locked in a contract for years! We made the best of it starting with the cheaply made plastic materials and poor customer service. We ended up paying off the contract just to get out of it due to an ineffective system going off or not working at random times despite trying to resolve all of the issues. NOW 3 years later I continue to receive NUMEROUS weekly emails telling me my LifeShield system is disconnect and I need to contact them. This is AFTER numerous phones calls to the company telling them we paid off the contract and sent back items YEARS ago! Each time they say it will stop but never does. I set them to email junk mail. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Can I rate ZERO stars?!

Sensors never worked or went off for no reason. Spoke with customer service rep mid October about sensor issues I was having where it wouldn’t recognize my door ever closing after being opened. Therefore, while I was away from home, it was constantly dispatching police to my home for no reason! After speaking on multiple occasions with customer service, of course I had multiple reasons as to why I was having these problems. On the last call, I was told there was no order found on my account to send out the device (a repeater) that some man told me was in the mail 2 ½ weeks prior! I should have cancelled days after I started using Lifeshield anyway because not only were the sensors falling off daily, but the motion detector was too. I had to literally climb up on a ladder and nail it up on my wall because it constantly fell off in the middle of the night, scaring me half to deaf! This has to be the WORSE SECURITY SYSTEM on the market! Very cheap equipment, but your monthly payments definitely aren’t cheap! Warning…NEVER sign a 3-year contract! They probably knew it was no good to begin with, that’s the only way they are able to keep customers.

Have been trying to get in contact with this insurance company for several day to verify benefits for a patient in crises. The first time I tried it said I would be on hold for about 2hrs. Yes 2 Hours!!!! It said I could leave a message for them to call me back but they never did. I tried to call their precert department and same situation. Tried to call back again to benefits and it goes from 58mins to over an hour. You never go down on the wait time. It just hovers at about an Hour or more. if a person is in emergency situation and providers need to call in for benefits or authorizations you are just out of luck. This could be because this insurance doesn't pay for anything. Their customer service is the pits so I am thinking over all it must also be the pits. What other conclusion can a person have???

This is y far the worst company I have ever worked with and after being with V and C that is saying quite a bit.
