Apple performed a spring tune on two central air conditioning systems on 3/*/2017. We returned on 4/**/2017 to check on the refrigerant level to see if there was any change from the previous visit---all checked out okay. On June [redacted], the customer called in for service on his 1st floor system. We...
went that same day and performed a leak search on both of his systems at his request and the findings were inconclusive at that time- no leaks were noted. The process for a leak search is to inject dye into the system and let it circulate into an operating system. Then using a leak detection lamp, we scan the system looking for signs of leaks of greenish or yellow dye. While large leaks will immediately be spotted, smaller leaks may not be immediately noticed for several days or weeks later, so additional appointments are made usually within 2 – 3 weeks to once again scan the system for refrigerant leaks. The follow up was made for Saturday June [redacted]. The office closes at 2pm on Saturdays but the technicians continue on their scheduled route until completion. I am unsure where the confusion came in and I do apologize for any inconvenience about the timing. [redacted] has not paid for his service contract for 2017 season and therefore is no longer covered. At the time of the search, [redacted] only paid for one system to be leaked searched even though we injected dye into both for him. And the only time he was charged for services that were not covered under his service agreement was July **,2015 . Breakdowns can be very irritating for both the homeowner and Apple. Finding small refrigerants leaks can be like looking for a needle in a hay stack making the process even more frustrating. We are scheduled to return on Wednesday 6/**/2017 to once again scan his air conditioning systems.
