Blain's Farm & Fleet

On February 24th I went to Blains farm and fleet to have my oil changed, tires rotated. and brake pads. On February 27 my oil pressure light went on while driving home. I pulled into a parking lot and called for a tow. After waiting 2 and one half hours in 30 degree weather the tow truck came and brought my car to McGrath Kia dealership. They weren’t able to look at the car until the next week. I rented a car. After they inspected the car they notified me that when the mechanic changed my oil he put two seals on the oil filter. This caused a oil leak which resulted in the engine to dry up and be destroyed. After finding out I notified the Assistant manager at blains farm and fleet. He forwarded the information to their insurance company (West Bend Insurance). Both farm and fleet and the insurance company told me that I would be taken care of. Then I received a message telling me to retrieve my personal belongings and plates from my car. I called the insurance company and was told I would get a check for $5068. They said the repairs would cost $6300. I looked on Kelley Blue Book. It said fair market range $7264-$9049. Fair purchase price $8157. I’m confused why they simply can’t repair my car and put me in the same position as I was in when I pulled into farm and fleet.
I feel that I’m being taken advantage of because I’m a senior citizen. I feel the more hardship they cause me the less they have to give me. All I want is my life to be normal again
