As suggested by the Revdex.com, we contacted Mr. [redacted] in an attempt to reach a compromise settlement to this disputed claim. We offered to give him an additional $150 which essentially covered 50% of his $500 deductible when combined with the $100 discount we had previously provided. Mr. [redacted] initially declined our offer, but called back and countered with $250 as a compromise. Although we did nothing unethical in the handling of his repair, we agree communication was lacking, and can understand how he reached the conclusion he should not have to pay his full deductible. As such, we have agreed to the above mentioned compromise.
We have tried on several occasions to work with the customer. He continues to use foul language and refuses to listen on how to fix the problem. Following is a recap of the things that have been told to the customer; 1. We conceded to the replacement of the hood panel...
hinge, the hood insulator retainer the core bolts, nuts, the labor on the fender along with refinish time and paint material, the labor to Remove and install the rocker panel bar, the repair time on the core support bushings’, the labor on the clean and retape and the taxes collected. This amount came to $618.07 and has since been refunded to the insurance company. Some of this work was customer service rather than poor workmanship. 2. The customer needs to contact a shop in his area to complete whatever repairs he feels that need to be addressed. The insurance company is well aware of the situation. The insurance company will pay for any repairs that have been addressed while in our shop. 3. We are not responsible for any prior damages to the vehicle. The customer sent us an estimate for prior damage from the insurance company. 4. The customer disassembled the fender when he got home – we have a voice recording that he admitted doing this. This null and voids any warranty that we have plus the fact that he drove over 2000 miles before altering us to any problems Our suggestion would be to contact one of the insurance direct repair facilities in his area to correct any problems that he has. The insurance company is well aware of the situation and is prepared to accommodate the customer to fullest extent that they can.
