Bought a vehicle from them months ago. Still have not gotten us things in the purchase agreement. Phone calls and emails never get returned
Bought a Jeep Wrangler in October. I noticed that pictures of the listing had different (original) floormats and a hard top storage bag. Those things had been removed from the vehicle. The floor mats had been replaced with cheap I'll-fitting carpet ones that didn't even go with the Jeep. The storage bag was missing completely. There was also only one set of keys to the car. Our purchase agreement included them ordering spare key and fob for the car, a storage bag, and the floor mats. We got the floor mats although they are NOT OEM. They're a knockoff. Not the Mopar Slush Mats that should have been ordered. The key and the storage thing for the hard top have never come. I have called the salesperson who we bought the car from, I have text him. I have sent emails to customer service and Billion Auto and I either get no response or I get some salesperson trying to sell me another car. I've called and left messages for the sales manager and they're always conveniently helping other customers but supposedly will call back. They never do.

Desired Outcome

I just want my stuff. If they don't want to get the appropriate floor mats or the storage cover, then give me the money to buy the appropriate replacements. I do however insist that I get my keys.

Sales practices
I told them I did not want the 1799 dollar valpro warranty and after keeping me there for a long time they come into the office with several papers to sign. After bringing the papers home I went through them and they sneaked it into the contract. After the weekend went by I confronted them and they would not give me a refund

Desired Outcome

Refund for valpro

Purchase of lemon and inability to trade although promised could trade on several occasions.
In Dec 2017 I purchased a vehicle from Billion Auto in Clinton Iowa. Three months after the purchase my transmission went out in the vehicle. Billion Auto referred me to Clinton auto group which is the Nissan authorized dealer in Clinton Iowa to repair the vehicle since it was under powertrain warranty. I requested that I trade the vehicle in at that time since it was sold to me with pre existing issues. Billion asked me some credit questions then denied me and told me to come back in six months. I went back in six months and was unable to trade it again. Another six months same story. The car has had numerous issues, including catalytic converter, and several others. I asked Clinton auto group if this car had issues prior to it being sold to me and they agreed it did. I have received texts stating that I would be able to trade it in which I still have and still have been unable to. I understand I bought the car as is but this is just down right dirty business practices on the part of Billion Auto.

Desired Outcome

I would like Billion to offer me a trade at the same payment I currently make with no down payment. They could take a loss on one sale to keep their customers happy. I have emailed management and gotten no reply. Thank you.

I purchased a truck from *** Toyota, which was purchased by Billion Automotive, on June 16, 2016. The truck was totaled on the date of May 29, 2019. I have been calling the dealership since beginning of June to get a refund on my extended warranty. I emailed a copy of the lien release to Travis Marner at the dealership on July 15, 2019. I did not get a phone call back nor can I get any phone call back from anyone at the dealership. I have left several messages for *** and ***, with no return call. As soon as I gave my email while looking at the vehicle on line, I received a call within 15 minutes, but boy they sure don't like to return a call if a refund is involved.
Product_Or_Service: Extended warranty
Account_Number: XXXXXXXX

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like a phone call and refund of the balance due from my extended warranty. I have no idea what is going on. An explanation of the situation would be great.

Was lied to about cars condition refusing refund on down payment
Put down 500 down payment was told cat was in good condition and would be cleaned and detailed got text messages from the salesman James car was delivered while I was at work I would not sign papers after taking for a drive car was shaking really bad turn signal was out windshield wiper fluid was out car was not cleaned and smelled took car to shop had bad tires even though was told was good by billion shop said one tire has bulge in it and lucky somebody wasn't killed, they would only pay 150 of car cleaning shop said interior needed replaced was bad. Billion agreed to pay for car repairs but another dealership said the car would be lucky to get 5600 decided I was not going to pay 9000 for car talked to destrict manager he called me a lier I hung up on him and they are refusing to return deposit because they had to pay for repairs on a car that was delivered in that shape. They said car had passed *** I can not see that possible

Desired Outcome

I want my refund and a apology from district manager never in my life heard of a manager at any business call a customer a lier because they didn't want to be ripped off

Billion Toyota Chevrolet Buick GMC of Clinton Response • Jun 13, 2019

This response is on behalf of Billion Clinton, Inc. d/b/a Billion Chevrolet Buick GMC Toyota ("Billion") regarding complaint number XXXXXXXX that was filed with your office on May 30, 2019 by ***.

The complaint filed by Mr. is inaccurate and misleading.

Mr. viewed multiple photos of the used 2013 Hyundai Sonata (the "Sonata") at Billion's website www.billionauto.com on April 23, 2019, including interior photos. Mr. was also provided a video of the Sonata by a sales representative. Billion believes Mr. was well informed about the condition of the Sonata prior to making a $500.00 down payment and representing that he would purchase the Sonata for the agreed-upon price if Billion shipped it to him in Minot, North Dakota.

In reliance on Mr. representations that he would purchase the Sonata for the agreed-upon price, Billion paid for a transport to take the Sonata from Clinton, Iowa to Minot, North Dakota at no additional charge to Mr.. The cost of the transport was approximately $1,000.00.

After delivery of the Sonata to North Dakota, Mr. reneged on his representations that he would purchase the Sonata. Mr. raised new-found issues about the condition of the Sonata. Mr. and his accomplice then made additional representations that he would purchase the Sonata for the agreed-upon price, if Billion paid for certain repairs to the Sonata desired by Mr..

In reliance on the additional representations on behalf of Mr. that he would purchase the Sonata, Billion paid approximately $583 for certain repairs to the Sonata at a service center selected by Mr..

After Billion paid for the repairs, Mr. reneged on the additional representations that he would purchase the Sonata for the agreed-upon price. Mr. now demanded a $3,000 discount on the agreed-upon price.

At this point it was clear that Mr. and his accomplice could not be trusted. Billion arranged for a transport to pick up the Sonata at the service center in Minot, North Dakota and deliver it back to Clinton, Iowa at a cost of approximately $1,000.

Billion reasonably relied on Mr. representations that he would purchase the Sonata, and incurred costs of approximately $2,500 in reliance on his representations. Billion is entitled to reimbursement of those costs. Billion offset the $500 deposit paid by Mr. against those costs and is entitled to an additional $2000 from Mr..

Thank you for the opportunity to respond.

We agreed to purchase a vehicle, gave our credit card over the phone to put down a deposit, drove 200 miles to arrive with the car already sold.
We contacted on Monday, May 13, 2019, in interest of Stock #: XXXXXX, a used 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser. We spoke with SAM FIERRO, sales person. On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, we called Sam to put a deposit on the car with a credit card and made an appointment for 6pm to purchase. We also gave information for our credit to be run for financing. We then drove 200 miles from Des Moines, Iowa, to Clinton, Iowa, where the car was located.

Just before we arrived at the dealership, and 3-1/2 hours after we paid a deposit, we were told on the phone that the vehicle had just been sold. Upon arrival at the dealership we spoke with Sam and CLINT GINSBACH, sales manager. We were not given any details as to why the vehicle was sold after we put a deposit down and our credit was run. Clint and Sam couldn't even tell us if our credit had in fact been run. Clint said he did not know. After checking my credit, it had indeed been run on May 15, 2019.

Clint also stated that they do not accept deposits on traded vehicles. This was the first we had heard this. Sam did not tell us this information and seemed surprised to hear this news.

We were treated very disrespectfully by Clint. He offered to buy us a tank of gas, and then just walked away without doing this. This experience was a deceptive sales tactic.

This dealership is not following ethical sales practices.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking reimbursement for mileage to and from the dealership. Total mileage is 399 miles @ the IRS rate of $0.55/mile.

Billion Toyota Chevrolet Buick GMC of Clinton Response • Jun 13, 2019

This is in response to complaint number XXXXXXXX filed with your office on May 17, 2019 by ***.
Ms. contacted Billion Clinton, Inc. d/b/a Billion Clinton ("Billion") on May 13, 2019 regarding her interest in purchasing a used 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser (the "Land Cruiser"). Ms. gave permission over the phone to Billion's salesman to process a credit application. Ms. talked further with Billion's salesperson about paying a deposit via a credit card to hold the Land Cruiser until she could be at the dealership to complete the purchase on May 15, 2019. Ms. told Billion's salesperson that she would be trading a vehicle in toward the purchase of the Land Cruiser as well as financing the purchase. It was at this time that Billion's salesperson told Ms. that it was a company policy not to accept a deposit to hold a vehicle if a trade was involved and that purchasing the Land Cruiser would follow the first come, first served policy.
Billion's salesperson did contact Ms. on May 15, 2019 to let her know that the Land Cruiser had been sold prior to their scheduled appointment and while she was en route to the dealership. Ms. came to the dealership anyway to discuss the purchase of the Land Cruiser with Billion's Sales Manager. He explained again that the sale followed the first come, first served policy and that Ms. credit card was never charged a deposit. Ms. credit was run as she had given permission for a credit application to be processed prior to the sale of the Land Cruiser to another customer.
Billion's Sales Manager did offer to re-fill Ms. gas tank for driving to the dealership, but Ms. refused that offer and left the dealership.

Customer Response • Jun 16, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We were not made aware of the "policy" of first come first served. We gave our credit card information over the phone to hold the vehicle and were again not made aware of this policy. The sales person said he was charging the deposit to hold the vehicle for us. It was only when we were 25-30 min away from the dealership during our 3 hour drive that the sales person called to say the vehicle had just sold. Of course we came to the dealership anyway since we wanted to ask why the vehicle had been sold when the sales person had put a deposit to hold the vehicle while we drive over.

This is very poor sales practices, disrespectful, unethical, and a complete waste of time and energy. The dealership should train their sales people on their policies, have their policies posted clearly and plainly on their website and make customers aware over the phone when making deals. Had I known about the policy prior, I would not have traveled to this dealership. This dealership currently has an "F" rating with the Revdex.com because of similar dealings with others.

The sales manager walked away and did not return to purchase my tank of gas. I then walked out of the dealership while my partner waited... he still did not return. I felt completely ignored, not valuable, mislead, baited, and dismissed.

False Advertising
On 3/2/19 I found their white 2013 Toyota Camry, that entire next week I was in contact with a sales man who promised it was everything they advertised. However when I was about to sign papers and buy the car, my father was asking some more questions, and that is when he asked why we need an additional warranty if this car comes with a CPO like they advertised. That is when they told us it is only CPO eligable, and that it would cost an additional $450 to get it certified. However they said it was already inspected. I think this is ridicilous. I was very unhappy, and they were not willing to work with me on making a deal. I would like this issue resolved. Not sure exactl what you can do to help. Please feel free to contact me at XXX-XXX-XXXX. My family and I gave up our entire saturday, my dad took the day off, and drove 3 hours each way, and spent $150 on this day to go look at this car.

Desired Outcome

I would still like to buy this car. However I already drove the 3 hours each way once so I want the car delivered for free, and the price that they told me saturday of $15,124.

Billion Toyota Chevrolet Buick GMC of Clinton Response • Apr 12, 2019

This is in response to complaint number XXXXXXXX with your office on March 11, 2019 by our customer ***.
Ms. contacted Billion Clinton, Inc. d/b/a Billion Chevrolet Buick GMC Toyota ("Billion") on or about March 2, 2019 about her interest in purchasing the used 2013 Toyota Camry (the "Camry"). Ms. worked with Billion staff, via phone calls, text messages and emails throughout the week of March 4, 2019 to work out the details of the sale.
On or about March 9, 2019 Ms. came to Billion with her father to finalize the sale paperwork. However, upon arrival Ms. and her father wanted to renegotiate the sale price of the Camry. Billion staff was unable to accommodate the requests of Ms. and her father regarding the final price of the Camry, so the sale transaction was never completed, and Ms. and her father left Billion. The Camry was then re-listed on the www.billionauto.com website as an available vehicle for another customer to purchase and was put back out on the sales lot. Shortly after the Camry was re-listed for sale it was sold to another customer.
Billion would be happy to work with Ms. to try and find another vehicle that better fits her needs.

Customer Response • Apr 15, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have already bought another car. However they are still not admitting that they falsely advertised they listed the car as CPOed for 13,995 and then wanted to charge me another almost $500 to get it certified even though it had already gone through the inspection they told me. So that would have changed the price to 14,500 which was not what they advertised. This is the issue I want fixed. I will never buy a car from Billion of Clinton but I do not want someone else to be screwed over by the false advertising that's going on.

Bought a car, they sent me the wrong title, had late fees, now ignoring me and my calls
I bought the car in July of 2018, they had to deliver it to me and then sent me the wrong title with the wrong vin #. I took the title to the courthouse not realizing it was wrong, so I had to call and them them it was the wrong title, had to wait another week to receive the correct title. I had to take off work 3 times to try and get my car registered bc of their mistake. My in transit expired while waiting for the correct title and of course I a cured late fees with the registration office for not having my car licensed in time. I have tried contacting the dealership several times a week to get answer for reimbursement of money I had to pay out of my pocket as the tax title and license was suppose to be included in my loan, but since there were late fees I had to pay extra. Just today 10/2/18 I tried calling them again, got transferred 3 different times and when someone asked if they could help I explained the situation and got hung up on

Desired Outcome

All I want is to be reimbursed for the money, I am a single parent and having to come up with $600 extra to pay for the license is ridiculous, especially when it was suppose to be included in my car loan.

Sold me a $26,000.00 truck with a replaced replaced engine and didn't tell me the engine had been replaced.
I bought a 2014 Toyota Tundra from Billion Auto of Clinton Iowa. At the time of the purchase the salesmen *** did not disclose that the truck had a replaced engine. About a week after I had the truck the check engine light came on. I took it to a Toyota service center to have it checked. That's when the service tech told me that the engine was replaced and it was not a factory Toyota replacement. It was an aftermarket engine.
I contacted *** and told him what I had found out about the truck. I told him I didn't want to pay $26,000.00 for a truck with a replaced engine. I talk to his manager about getting a different truck, but he would only let me trade for an older truck with more miles on it. He wouldn't let me trade for a 2014 Toyota Tundra that had more miles but a factory engine. They had already sold the truck I traded in so I couldn't just get my old truck back and end the deal.
They fix the truck and got it back to me the next week. I sent an email to the head office of Billion explaining the same thing I'm telling you now. They told we someone how handles complaints would contact me. That has never happened.
Last week the truck started acting funny again. I took it back to my local Toyota technician to be checked out again. This time the engine was having a misfire in one of the cylinders.
As of this complaint I have sent out four emails to three different Billion dealers. One to the Clinton dealership where I got the truck, one to the the main office and two to the dealerships in the Sioux Falls. I sent the ones to Sioux Falls because that is where the owner lives.(Dave Billion) In hopes that some one would send my email to him. As of this complaint I have not heard from anyone.
They rushed me through the paperwork signing as it was the end of the day. I told them I could come back the next day and sign the papers. But they insisted on get the deal closed that night. After the first issue with the truck and finding out the engine had been replaced I got out the paperwork and found out that it did state that the engine had been replace. From the timeline of the truck being purchased by Billion of Clinton and the time the trucks engine was replaced. It looks like they bought it with a blown engine and bought an aftermarket engine and installed it at there dealership. The replaced engine was not in the ad on the website or on the window sticker and the salesmen never told me about it.
If they would of told me about the replaced engine at the time of the sale I would of picked another truck or just kept my truck and went home.
I feel like a first class sucker! I thought that the days of the shady used car salesmen was over.
I don't know what to do at this point so I turn to you. I hope you can help me in this matter.

Thanks

Desired Outcome

At this point I would like Billion Auto to hold up their side of what they advertised on there website. A 2014 Toyota Tundra with low miles for $26,000.00 That's why I drove two and a half hour to get the truck.

Billion Toyota Chevrolet Buick GMC of Clinton Response • Feb 13, 2018

This letter is in response to the complaint filed on December 14, 2017 by ***.

Mr. purchased a used 2014 Toyota Tundra (the "Toyota") on or about May 31, 2017 from Billion Clinton, Inc. d/b/a Billion Chevrolet Buick GMC Toyota ("Billion"), and signed the Buyers Guide confirming that the Toyota was being purchased "As is - No Warranty". Mr. also purchased an extended services contract with Century Automotive at that time.

Mr. contacted Billion after purchasing the Toyota and, on or about June 26, 2017, the Toyota was brought to Billion for repair work. The Toyota was towed at Billion's expense from Mason City, Iowa to Clinton, Iowa, and Mr. was given a vehicle to drive while the Toyota was being serviced. The repairs were completed on the Toyota at no cost to Mr., as the extended services contract covered the necessary repairs.

Mr. has made requests to trade in the Toyota towards another Toyota Tundra, and not have to pay any additional amounts for such a trade. Billion has not had any such vehicle in its inventory to date that meets Mr. request.

We regret that Mr. is disappointed with his purchase, but we will continue to work with Mr. on any necessary repairs.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond.

Customer Response • Feb 14, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They haven't made me a new offer to trade my 2014 Tundra for a different truck. They haven't contacted me to repair the second engine problem. I have sent multiple emails with no reply. I received one call that went to my voicemail. I called back after work and ask them to call after 3:00PM when I would be off work. I did not get a call.
Poor costumer service.

On 09/25/17 I purchased a 2017 Toyota Highlander and a service contract (App. # GB078F & Agreement # XXXXXXXXXX) on the Highlander from Billion Auto.
On 09/25/17 I purchased a 2017 Toyota Highlander and a service contract (App. # GB078F & Agreement # XXXXXXXXXX) on the Highlander from Billion Automotive. I cancelled the service contract and was told by *** the guy who signed me up, that I canceled within the 30 days and would get a complete refund on the service contract, as promised.
I received a check from Toyota several weeks later for $1,348.11 as a partial refund because they stated that I canceled the service contract on 10/27/17. I don't know where they got that date. The cancellation agreement only has the purchase date of the service contract, not the cancellation date.
I don't remember the exact date I cancelled, but I do know that it was within the 30 days and before 10/27/17.
I paid $1,415.00 plus $99.05 sales tax for the service contract. I expected a check for $1,514.05. The check they sent me was $165.94 short.
On 12/08/17 I talked to *** in the business office at Billion Toyota and he told me that he would contact Toyota on 12/11/17 and straighten it out and get back to me. I called Shane on 12/13/17 and left a message and he never got back to me.
I called *** again on 12/14/17 and he told me that he was just the middleman and that it was up to Toyota. Toyota Financial Services (XXX) XXX-XXXX told me that it was up to the dealer.
What I want is the refund due to me of $165.94.

Desired Outcome

What I want is the refund due to me of $165.94.

This letter is in response to the complaint filed on December 14, 2017 by ***.

Mr. purchased a 2017 Toyota Highlander on or about September 25, 2017 and a Toyota extended services contract. Mr. did cancel his extended services contract and (based on reports to us from Toyota Financial Services) was sent a check of $1398.11 (not $1348.11 as indicated in Mr. complaint, which amount we believe was a typo or inadvertent error).

We sent Mr. a check was from Billion Clinton, Inc. d/b/a Billion Chevrolet Buick GMC Toyota for $99.05 for sales tax associated with his extended service contract. This check was received By Mr. after he filed his complaint. Our sales representative has spoken with Mr., and we believe that this matter has been resolved to his satisfaction. We regret any inconvenience to Mr..

Thank you for the opportunity to respond.
