I am responding to Complaint ID# 11474035. 1. The information that was dropped off in January 2016 was incomplete, as the majority of tax documents aren't available at that time nor are most tax forms approved by the IRS and State agencies. Many forms are not issued nor available to February or...
March each year. In addition, the Excel spreadsheet was incorrect as it did not reconcile and contained significant errors. Mr [redacted] was made aware of this. 2. Mr [redacted] was made aware that an extension was being filed and was subsequently made aware that extensions were properly filed and accepted by the IRS and State of DE. Filings can be verified via the IRS and State of DE. 3. I never refused to return any documents. There was a mix up on my part, as I was not aware that my receptionist was on vacation on the day he said he would stop in to pick them up. I personally apologized for my mistake. All original documents have been returned, as I personally delivered them to his business located on [redacted]. Mr [redacted] acknowledged receipt. If Mr [redacted] has a list of any original documents that be believes to be missing, I would be more than happy to search through our files. Please note that this is the first time he has notified that he is missing any of his original documents. 4. It is my understanding that we have met our professional responsibilities, as we have provided Mr [redacted] with copies of all completed work (via paper and electronic format) and returned all original documents. Mr [redacted] is now demanding for us to provide copies of workpapers related to uncompleted work that has not been paid for. All communications have ceased from our end, as Mr [redacted] was verbally abusive to my receptionist and hung up on me during a telephone call in which a resolution was being attempted. Mr [redacted] would be aware of my position if he did not abruptly hang up on me as I was trying to explain it to him. 5. I have not refused to cooperate with Mr [redacted]'s new accounting firm, as I have not had any direct communication with them. This can be verified by the Revdex.com via a telephone call or email to the new accounting firm. Please note that I went through a similar situation in August 2011 when I was first contacted by Mr [redacted] to prepare his 2010 tax returns after he had a falling out with his accountant at that time. It was at that time that I became aware that Mr [redacted] has had numerous accountants over the last decade. It is my opinion that Mr [redacted]'s complaint is unfounded and is an attempt to obtain copies of workpapers related to work for which he has not paid for. I look forward to a response.
