Product is faulty, Rep doesn't respond, Seller can't help.
We are a commercial Landscape and Maintenance company that purchased 2 hustlers mowers 1-60", and 1-72" in ***. Within the first month both z turn mowers had to be sent back to the dealer that sold the equipment for various reasons, Pulley issues, bearings in the front wheels exploding, deck risers breaking. Since then the 72" has been back to the shop several more times for the deck riser, now the deck does not cut even, the dealer can not fix and has referred this to the manufactory representative, who is non responsive. This has been an ongoing issue for 6 months. This 72" mower is useless to my company at this point, as we pride ourselves on great service and attention detail. With a mower that cuts crooked, this does not settle well me at all. The 60" has had another pulley go out, which we ordered through the dealer, but it has been over 2 weeks and still no parts. This renders this machine useless. With this many problem and the dealer unwilling to service these machines, these are lemons and should be returned to the manufacture. They are under warranty.
Being a business in need of good running equipment and these not being such, I just want to return these and void my lease. I would like to take my business elsewhere.
We have contacted Mr. and we have been waiting for him to give us a full report of the issues he is experiencing. He contacted us earlier this week *** with the following response:
***

I purchased a mower this year for over $***, a bracket broke so I brought it back to the dealer. Its been there for over a month and hustler can't give me a time frame as to when they will ship a replacement part to the dealer. I had to hire a lawn service to have my lawn mowed which is not cheap .
pay for the lawn service while my mower sits at the dealer waiting for you guys to send the part.

***,
This issue was resolved on ***. The unit was repaired under warranty. The delay in getting the parts was due to the fact we were in the middle of relocating our parts ware house from *** to ***.
Any additional questions please let me know.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I don't see a resolution here
Need Anti Backfire Solenoid replaced on *** engine carburetor Dealer had mower for a week and claimed he fixed it, but isn't working
*** won't replace my Anti Backfire Solenoid on my *** engine carburetor He said he cleaned it, but that didn't fix it The machine is under warranty It is 120 mile round trip to his shop so I don't bring it there unless it is broke He told me he ordered the part many times, but it never arrives I called him many times to ask about the part, but he never calls back I asked ***(Regional Repair Technician) to fix it since I don't trust *** anymore, but he won't do it for some reason The solenoid makes a faint "CLICK" when you turn the key "ON" I listened for the CLICK with my mechanics stethoscope NO CLICK NO CLICK means the solenoid isn't working I told *** and *** about this, but they don't order the part so my mower never gets fixed *** tells me he ordered the part several times, but if he did order it the part would have arrived a long time ago Purchase *** 7 year warranty
Replace Anti Backfire Solenoid on my *** engine carburetor on my *** 42" lawnmower
Mr. has been instructed to bring in his mower and have the part in question installed. I understand that he has to drive a long way to get to his dealer, but the part in question is on the engine and the engine warranty is independent of the Hustler warranty and the requirement from the engine manufacture is that the warranty repair needs to be completed by an authorized servicing dealer. The part is at the dealer and the dealer is waiting on Mr..

Subject: Big Dog/Hustler mower problem
Dear Revdex.com and Ms *** I'm resubmitting my complaint from *** I bought a new Big Dog *** which is a clone of the Hustler *** Only the paint and badging are different My *** mower deck jumps up violently when the PTO is engage It slams into the underside of the mower frame so hard parts are falling off of the mower in under 20 under hours The nut, flat washer, bushing and bolt that holds the deck support linkage on the non discharge side came out while mowing I didn't know it until I turned around and realized I was plowing soil on one side and cutting grass on the other side of the deck My local dealer told me he could NOT fix the problem even though other customers had the same complaint as me He did give me the parts that fell off. The deck slams into the frame hardest when the deck is lowered which is where it is most of the time during cutting grass The PTO is supposed to make the cutting blades spin NOT make the mower deck jump up into the frame The PTO clutch is electro mechanical to spin the cutting blade drive belts How this causes the deck to jump up is a mystery to me. Other brands I have seen do NOT slam the mower deck into the frame like my Big Dog *** More parts are going to fall off and get worn out because of this violent slamming The bolts are going to shear off and the holes in the link bars that support the mower deck are going to get opened up until the links fail and the deck drops to the ground again I called Big Dog many times, but they never answer their phone I also wrote them 3 times, but they threw my letters into the trash can
The procedure that is outlined in the owners manual was not being followed .Mr. is a pretty smart and technical guy. Once he understood the reason for our more aggressive engagement of our electric clutch for longer clutch life and the benefit to belt life from engaging the deck at the upper settings, he is fine and understands how to engage his PTO. We have also replaced any damaged hardware and provided a new belt to his satisfaction.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I'm waiting for the technician to find the time to come install the parts which should be in a few days I appreciate them sending the parts I will appreciate it even more if the upgraded parts stop the deck from jumping up I never complained about the belt Only the deck jumping up and slamming into the underside of the frame The is a good mower If the deck didn't jump you would NEVER have heard from me I read and reread my operator manual I was told to engage the PTO at 2/3 or 3/4 When I do that the deck jumps up violently into the frame and drops back down like a rock At IDLE it doesn't jump as much and doesn't hit the frame as hard If I raise the deck all the way up it can't jump very far This jumping and hitting the frame causes premature wear on the deck linkage and fasteners The reason they want you to engage the PTO at 2/3 or 3/4 is to overcome the load of starting the blades in tall wet grass with the deck down I NEVER DO THOSE THINGS TO MY MACHINE I start with the deck UP then lower the deck I go from short grass to grass that needs to be cut which dramatically reduces the initial torque needed to get the blades going I realize that if the clutch slips on startup the friction disc will wear prematurely I do NOT load my machine in that manner The sound of the deck slamming into the frame sends chills down my spine My best results are deck UP at IDLE speed and no wet tall grass near by. I know it is still trying to jump even when I take these precautions, but it isn't nearly as bad as with deck DOWN and 3/4 throttle Once my new parts are installed and the deck no longer jumps I'll be a happy camper This really is a great mower Let's stop the deck from jumping
