I have had the horrifically bad fortune of being completely disrespected, insulted, disgusted and being down right treated horribly by this place. I would also like to add that the previous sentence is a complete understatement. In my opinion, this shop treated me worse than any other experience I have ever had in over 40 years. To accurately and completely convey this total experience would take more time than I have to give. So I will be giving the mere highlights of this farce. But the reader should be mindful that there is significantly more context to this than I can convey. My last few visits there are just a portion of the total debacle. Please keep that in mind as you consider what happened to me. To start, a little context is necessary. I am the proud owner of an extremely rare and exceptional car. I work and have worked very hard in order to have this car. I love and cherish my car. I take outstanding care of my car. It is an Audi TT RS. Most of you have never seen one and probably never will. It was only released to the United States twice in history, both releases were of limited numbers. It was very expensive to buy. It is very expensive to maintain. So everything that has anything to do with my car gets my very full and undivided attention. I know it intimately well and can often be found detailing or doing various other projects with it. So my car obviously means a lot to me. SO approx 9 months ago I needed new tires. I need to take it somewhere reputable, that will care about it right? Somewhere like Big O tires right where I grew up. They can be trusted, lets try them. HHHHHHUUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEEEEE MISTAKE! ENORMOUS, in fact. Knowing what I know now, that is definitely the one place I should not have trusted. I might as well of just kicked a wasp nest around shark infested waters in a bear cave with a thousand bears. I would have been better treated in that cave than I was at Big O conspires. I mean, I am not exaggerating, Big O Lies cares about nothing except their bottom line. Dont be fooled. These people are right up there with...... well.... Satan. Yes the father of lies. The Devil. BIG O LIES. Same thing. So I bought 4 new tires with their outstanding warranty and glorious service. I was not gonna need to worry about tires or service. Um, wrong and WRONG-ER. Just a few months in to driving on these "great", new tires and the nightmare begins. It starts out with my front left tire. My car is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system. So I know when a tire begins to loose air. This tire began slowly loosing air which set off my system about every 3 days. Pretty clearly a slow leak right? No worries, they will take care of me at Big Oaf, or so I stupidly believed. I end up kinda dealing with this problem for about two weeks before I can get back in to these "professionals". I finally get the vehicle in to them to inspect. They keep my car nearly 3 hours while I wait. Then they proceed to tell me there is nothing wrong with the tire. I ignorantly assume they are right and drive home. The very next day I am on the freeway on the way in to work. A large yellow tire warning appears on my dashboard again. I pull over and check all the tire pressures. Sure enough, that front left tire is over 15 point low. So I fill it up and continue on to work. This same pattern repeats itself every few days from here. It very obviously has a slow leek that they clearly missed when I just had the vehicle in to them. I drive this way for a week or so with having to add air to the tire almost every day. Finally I get a chance to take it back to the Big O experts and get it fixed right. It is obviously gonna be covered by the warranty, I am sure. I get it to Big O and surprise, surprise. They are too busy to get to me at all that day. I am instructed to bring the car back the next day. I am too busy at work to get it in the next few days. In fact just about 3 or 4 days later disaster strikes. I had filled the tire with air just before leaving for work. I am driving on the freeway in to work for a very important meeting. Very quickly I see the yellow light flash on my dash for the tire pressure being off. As I am trying to make my way to the freeway shoulder I can feel it is worse than just low. By the time I get off to the side of the freeway the tire was basically gone. It essentially disintegrated completely in about 30 seconds. So there I am now, stranded on the side of the freeway. My car has no spare. That is why I always make sure I have good tires. I have a fix a flat kit, but that isnt gonna do anything for me here. Gonna miss that work meeting. I ended up having to spend $150 bucks to have my car towed to Big nO's. Off-course even though I had just bought 4 new tires pretty recently and even had the car in to them a few days ago complaining something was wrong, they made me pay full price for ANOTHER NEW tire. I also desperately wish that was the worst part of it. Facts are things were much, much worse. I pick up the car running late for work the next day. I wish I would have had time to inspect their work right there and then. I did not get the chance until I got off work that evening. Upon close inspection, this was how the vehicle was delivered to me from these "pro's". The first thing I did was to check to see if the tires were to proper inflation spec. I thought this would be something they would get right or close. WRONG! Every single tire was off and quite a bit off too. The front left tire was 6 psi over inflated. The front right tire was 6 psi over inflated. The rear left tire was 11 psi over inflated. The rear right was 14 psi under inflated. Unbelievable right? Well I am just getting started. They managed to leave my trunk a complete disaster. I guess they must have been looking for my tire key which is in the glove box. All my tools had been dumped out and were strewn about my trunk. Stuff was just messed up. Like a gorilla had rummaged through it. They also managed to yank the wires out of my custom car stereo amplifier and just left it that way. Absolutely horrible care displayed towards my ultra rare and expensive vehicle. I next noted several deep scratches on my rims. Serious scratches that were not there before. Then I proceed to notice my custom Audi dust caps are missing from about three lug nuts. They were there when the car went in. Additionally two of my four tire caps, custom, were missing. Then to add insult to injury, the big one, the covers for my ceramic calipers are all gone. At first I thought most of this was just a result of them being to sloppy cause they are in such a hurry that they cant take care of these little, important details..... like taking care of the actual vehicle. But their negligence runs much, much deeper than that. I am livid at this point. Taking pictures and going over everything a second time. I simply cannot believe any reputable shop would do this to any car, let alone any expensive rare car like mine. I begin thinking someone at this place has it in for me. Still pretty much have this opinion. So I am livid as I try to go to bed that night. Just cant get over it. Why would someone do this to me or my car? So imagine my shock when I walk out to the vehicle the next day to find that rear right tire nearly flat. That brand new 5th tire. This is too much. I am gonna go give these guys a chance to explain and make it right. Any manager worth anything has got to at least look in to this right? WRONG.... I go and have a talk with the manager on duty at Big O Lies. I have not even gotten through what has happened to my vehicle when he starts stone walling me and calling me a liar. He does not even so much as offer an apology for anything that happened to my car. In fact, this genius had the audacity to tell me he would not even fix the flat on my rear right tire. He told me I would have to take my car to a different Big O to get help. He would not help me. Ironically, him telling me to go somewhere else was the only thing he said that made any sense whatsoever. God forbid he actually try to take care of a customer. This is their manager. What does that tell you about this store? Look at all I went through and then look at how they handled it. No reasonable person on this planet could ever tell me that the way they handled this was anything but horribly wrong. This incredibly smart manager clearly has no idea the burden Utah law puts on mechanics for the handling of customers cars while in their care. Well he might learn a few things before all of this is said and done. To finish my story. I ended up getting another flat tire a few days later, again on the freeway. I had to have it towed to a different Big O tires. They in turn told me the first Big O had error-ed in telling me that I could replace just one tire the time before. They were not close to being in spec tread wise. I needed to replace all 4. So there I am, about a week later buying 4 more brand new tires. 9 tires in about 9 months. A lot of good that warranty did me. All this location at Big O Lies did for me was ruin and damage my car and then refuse to take any accountability for their actions. They should be completely and utterly ashamed of how they treated me. Think very hard before you ever go here. There manager telling me, "No, my guys would never take your caliper brake covers." Well genius, I would not think so either, but I have photographic evidence that they were on the vehicle when it was towed to you. See I took pictures of the flat tire I got. You can clearly see they are there right when it got towed to you, can prove it. They were gone when I picked the car up. Fact. Also, put some effort in to what Utah law says about this scenerio before you just try and stonewall me like that. You are gonna discover to your peril just how wrong it was to be so negligent with me. Not to mention the landslide of other stuff you guys did wrong here. It is almost a really bad joke. Everyone should think twice before going to your shop. They should all get to read what happened to me first.
I am responding to ***. I will only address facts. the customers car was delivered to us on a tow truck. the left front tire was destroyed due to negligence of ther customer. he insisted that it was defective. if you google images of tires run on after going flat you will see thousands of images just like his defective tire. the customer treated nate in a very rude and arguementative fashion, thus nate put up a "stone wall" as a reaction to this treatment. we were falsely accused of removing caliper covers and scratching all his wheels. keep in mind we only removed one wheel from the vehicle. it is really difficult to scratch a wheel that you don't remove. it is also difficult to remove a caliper cover from a wheel that you don't remove. is it possible that we inadvertantly left off a few audi lug dust caps and valve covers, yes it's possible. and if we did that we are sorry. realize the tow truck drug this vehicle and clamped on the wheels. there is a far greater liklihood of a tow truck scratching other wheels than ones we didn't touch. at no time did we suggest one tire was okay, the customer was livid that we wouldn't warranty one, do you suppose he would be happy paying us for four. there were other options the other big o did not give him. his new tire could have been shaved to match the depth of the other tires, thus only needing one. nate refused to fix the other tire as he was sure we would be falsely accused of something else we didn't do. in 17 years, this is the first customer nate has turned away. as to the wheel key, if a customer does not want us rummaging through their car, the wheel key should be placed in an obvious location such as the cup holder or tell us in advance where it is. most wheel keys are in the trunk with the flat tire repair kit. if we left his trunk a mess i'm sorry about that too. however, I will not apologize for threats and harassment ot my employess. there are laws to protect us also. falsely accusing us of theft and damage is also a crime. we did not take his caliper covers, and we only touched one of his wheels with our equipment, thus, damage to the other three didn't happen here. i'm not sure what he wants at this point, but I will gladly send dust covers and valve caps via ups to him. please provide photos of what they are so I can match them up. in conclusion, I am stunned at his unhappiness about air pressure, when he admits the tire that was low had something in it. most tire pressure inflators are + or - 2 psi, and recommended pressures are listed on the door placard. typically we inflate to 3 psi over placard to help keep the lights from constantly coming on. my gage and his could vary by 4 psi and be considered ok. my advise would be to follow the golden rule, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you", nates' behavior was reactionary, I have interviewed all my emploeyees that were here that day and they agree that the customers behavior was unacceptable. if you want help with a problem, don't throw a tantrum. slso, don't praise those who didn't give you the options to only buy one tire.
