Review: I bought a refrigerator and a gas stove from Mr. [redacted] on Jan 28th, 2014. I ask Mr. [redacted] for a refrigerator the was approx 5 yrs old to purchase. He showed me a Hotpoint unit and I ask him how old it was and he said from his many years of experience he could tell how old they are. He did not refer to any references. It has a 60 day warranty. The unit runs well, looks nice, my complaint is not about the warranty or the refrigerator it's self but about being lied to and I will not be able to resale a refrigerator that is 13 years old for what I paid Mr. [redacted] for one that was supposed to be around 5 years old. I am not using the unit and was going to resell it. I looked up the age at the GE (Hotpoint) web site http://www.geappliances.com/search/fast/infobase/10000722.htm The unit was manufactured in either 2002 or 2014 serial number beginning with TD T=October D=2014, 2002, 1990, 1978, 1947. It was easy to see that this unit was manufactured in 2002. Which makes it at least 13 years old. Needless to say I felt like I was lied to. I phoned Mr. [redacted] told him who I was refreshed his memory on our conversation emphasizing that I had ask him for a unit that was around 5 years old, that GE website said the unit was over 13 years old, not 5. He did not agree with me. I told him I thought he lied to me and told him I would like to return the refrigerator on those grounds. He refused (politely enough). I then told Mr. [redacted] that I would be contacting the Revdex.com and filing a complaint and that I would be notifying my readers on my Craigs list add of what had happened to me and then hung up the phone. It was a civil conversation, he was cordial, I trust I was. He told me he could not help me I told him what I was going to do. He called me back and I don't remember if he said he would or could, sue me for slander, obviously not wanting his business hurt. Mr. [redacted] needs to stop even offering to date things if he does not want to be libel for what he says.Desired Settlement: I would prefer to just bring the unit back, but he said he would not.He could change his mind and let me return it, and give me a full refund. He could let me sell it, bring a signed sales receipt and refund the difference between what I sold it for and what I bought it from him for.
