Bianca Amor's Liquidation Supercentre Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  There are many inconsistencies in AAA B[redacted]'s response. First of all the iron was purchased well before the end of 2014. I had already moved the iron in the bedroom to try to keep it from tripping. We hired a house cleaner in January. Her vacuum trips the switch, not the one we own...I specifically told Monte what the problem was.  I did discuss bringing the house up to code.  He said it would pass a current inspection at today's codes when he was finished.  From what he is telling you now about the garage and sprinkler, I doubt very much our electrical work would pass. That makes me wonder why only now did he discover the problem in the garage. He was more interested in what he wanted to sell me than what the problem I had was. My husband and I both work great distances from our home and travel often on weekends. Monte was informed at the time we could schedule him that we needed the box labeled, the paperwork of what was done and I informed his wife that I was still experiencing the same problem we had hired him to fix. It's insignificant what appliance caused the problem or how old or new the appliance was. He is the electrician, not us.. We hired a professional so the problem we were having would be addressed. He put a bandaid on the problem and walked away without checking to find the problem in the garage and how it was part of the problem we called him about.  Monte definitely does more talking than listening.
The B[redacted]s are blowing smoke when they state that we just discovered the problem. We had personal family matters that prevented us from being available the Saturday of Mother's Day thus requiring me to reschedule. [redacted] had to travel to the DC area to assist our daughter with 3 sick kids, and one being hospitalized. That left me home alone on Mothers Day which led to my decision to drive to LA to visit my mother. I am accepting Monte's offer to fix the garage circuit only if we can pass an electrical inspection., which I will obtain after his work is completed  If we don't pass, he will be hearing from us again.  To be clear, I am accepting his offer to complete the work that he offered at no charge. If this is not the work that will pass the inspection this will not be acceptable and we will revisit this issue.

As to the complaint, we at AAA B[redacted] Electric try very hard
to please all of our customers and we have for over 25 years.  [redacted] called in February concerning
vacuum kicking the bedroom circuit. You will notice in the first sentence of
the complaint that a “certain product and...

outlet” was used. [redacted] meant a
vacuum not a new 13 amp iron that he just purchased.I met with [redacted] at her home in February as she told
me the house was old and that a lot of things were wrong with the breakers and
outlets. There were also issues with the gfci in ½ bath, as well as a vacuum
tripping the bedroom circuit.  [redacted] was
very concerned about the safety of the electrical in the house.I then checked
the breaker box, I found neutrals were double lugged, breakers cracked, some
over sized breakers, ground were all tied together under one lug(not separated)
and not labelled. The house is over 35 years old . The plugs and switches were
loose, worn out, and ivory in color. I explained that the wires in the older outlets
are stabbed in back of outlet and not tied and screwed in as they should be.
[redacted] asked what it would cost to replace all outlets and switches, I told her
$1800.  I told her that replacing the
outlets, switches, and putting in new GFCI’s would eliminate a lot of problems
in future. [redacted] then asked what it would cost to do the breaker box and
replace all outlets and switches, I gave her price of $3000.00. I also
explained I would show her the burned outlets if I found any. Then [redacted] came home and they discussed the contract. [redacted] signed contract and we
set installs for 2/23/15.On Feb. 23 we installed new outlets and switches first and
found 3 burnt outlets in which we gave to [redacted]. One outlet burnt in master
bedroom, 1 behind the refrigerator in kitchen and another somewhere else. The
GFCI in the ½ bath was very loose and old, [redacted] was pleased to have that
fixed as well as burnt up outlets.  We
then installed the breaker box as we finished it was raining getting the
breaker box labels wet on the box.  We
explained to [redacted] that we couldn’t label because they were wet, he understood
and said he would call for us to come back to relabel. We called 3 times over
the next 2 weeks and never received a call back. We finally received a call
from [redacted] in May 2 months later to come label the breaker box, so we set up on
a Saturday(convenient for them because they both work) 5/9/15.  The next week [redacted] called and cancelled the
Sat. appointment and rescheduled for 5/15/15.We arrived on 5/15/15 to meet [redacted] at noon and labelled
the breaker box promptly. We were then shown a brand new iron from [redacted].
[redacted] explained that it trips the bedroom circuit where they use the new iron
and was upset that it was tripping the circuit.
I looked at the iron wattage, it was over 1700watts equaling over 13
amps. [redacted]’s bedroom circuit is 15 amps, I tried to explain this to [redacted]
and he would not let me finish. [redacted] became upset, loud , and interrupting
as I tried to explain to no success. After labelling the breaker box we found that an outlet for
a sprinkler system that was added in garage. Someone had cut the bedroom
circuit , then tied the sprinkler and 2 full size refrigerators to the bedroom
circuit.  A garage outlet is never on a
master bedroom circuit by code. [redacted] then wanted to run the vacuum in the
bedroom to see if it kicks circuit, it did not kick. I explained to [redacted] to
remember the burnt outlet in the bedroom we replaced, when it fixed allowed
circuit to run the vacuum.I recommended to [redacted] putting the 2 refrigerators in
garage on separate circuit. [redacted] was then very upset that he could not run
his new iron with 2 refrigerators on his bedroom circuit. I told him that each
and every appliance pulls different wattage depending on what you buy, that you
can’t overload a circuit. [redacted] then wanted a copy of the original receipt we
gave him. I explained that was at the office and my wife would send that out to
him (this was Friday 1pm). Monday morning 5/18 we called to get email to send
copy of receipt (that detailed work completed), it is now Tuesday 5pm and have
not heard back. We will mail copy to his address on Wednesday 5/20/15.ResolutionAs I stated from the beginning in my first sentence, we try
and make all our customers happy. We feel that we  do that consistently and that gives us great
pride. We have a great customer following and A+ rating for these reasons. We
fixed the initial problem the vacuum did not trip circuit anymore after our
work completed. In [redacted] case, giving him $1000 is not reasonable
considering the work completed to satisfaction. They were satisfied until 2
months later when the new iron tripped the circuit. We understand their frustration and will gladly add a plug
on the garage wall, tying that plug into the living room circuit and put one
refrigerator on that circuit. We would be more than happy to do this for the [redacted]
so that they can use high power  iron in
their bedroom at no charge.2)If [redacted] wants us to run a 125’ dedicated circuit to his
garage from his breaker box to run his 2 garage refrigerators( taking them both
off bedroom circuit) the cost would be $575 for us to do the work.
Unfortunately no money will be refunded for work already completed .Thank You
AAA B[redacted] Electric
