Berry Painting and Home Improvement

Contracted with Mr. B to do some interior painting and sent signed contract to him with an estimate of $1585.00 and a cancellation policy of 20%. Initial date for the paint selection was March 30th, 2020(was fulfilled), and painting was to be done April 1-4, 2020. We postponed the job until May 26-29, 2020 at this time Mr. B requested a deposit. We sent $600.00. On May 25th we contacted Mr. B to determine the time of his arrival on the May 26th. During that conversation , Mr. B stated that he had Covid-19 concerns/exposure, therefore we canceled the work and requested $283.00 which was the excess of the 20% per contract. Mr. B stated he would remit the excess. We contacted Mr. B on the 9th of June concerning the $283.00, Mr. B texted that he would "get the money out to us". We then contacted Mr. B on June 19th concerning this lack of remittance.
