The Customer's statement of the problem states that the customer purchased two trees from Berns Garden Center on 4/27/14. This is correct! However, the customer states that on that day they also purchased tree removal. This is incorrect. Our copy of the receipt, order number [redacted]. shows price for the two trees, cost for delivery, and labor cost to plant trees which is 50% of the retail total for the trees. This makes sense and is our usual procedure for Garden Center tree plantings.
Our Garden center employee attached a note to the work order addressed to Berns Landscape Manager requesting a quote be given to customer for removing an existing tree as to facilitate the planting of one of the new trees. The note stated the customer would tie a yellow ribbon to the tree to be removed. At the time of the sale of these trees, our planting schedule was out approx. three weeks and no date was promised to customer until our [redacted] manager was able to visit site and quote tree removal. Typically, our staff will provide special instructions on space provided on work order if there are any special request. Such as trees being a Mothers Day Gift. There were no such instructions written on order.
Our Landscape Manager provided a quote for tree removal to the customer on 5/12/2014 with a date to perform work on 5/15/2014. The customer elected to have someone else remove existing tree and Berns planted both trees on 5/15/2014.
