Horribly demeaning, tried bullying me into hiring them, cut me off on every response to her questions, spoke slower and slower when I would ask reasonable questions, like I was automatically intellectually slower because I was applying for SSD and asked a question, wouldn't actually answer questions but respond with "we are a law office, not social security. You understand that, right??" Then hung up on me after the 4th time I asked the same question without any actual answer, just responded what is above in quotes 3 times. Question was about what I would still need to do for my SSD application if I hired them. Completely reasonable question, rephrased each time because I was worried maybe she didn't understand the question or maybe I wasn't asking it correctly. No, she just didn't want to answer any of my questions and I wouldn't answer hers until she answered mine, so she hung up while I was mid sentence. It made me feel very uneasy about the whole thing, like I was just a monetary figure to them (which is understandable, they are a business. But show some respect and reasonable business practices) and I really got the feeling they like preying on the weak (aka anyone who is desperately trying to get the process rolling as fast as possible and make sure you do everything needed considering if you're applying for SSD you can't work, have no income, and are desperate to do anything to make the average of 2.5+ years for the SSD approval process when your diagnosis isn't terminal any faster.)
We have no record of this person calling our office. We do get many callers that think they are calling the Social Security Office and try to determine if that is who the client is looking for. As far as us trying to bully her into hiring us, well that simply is not how we operate. In fact we are always open to answering any questions a caller may have and are very open that they should have a representative to undergo this process whether they use us or not. When we ask certain questions of a caller it is to try to determine if they have the right place, are eligible for Social Security benefits or to help us in rendering the appropriate advice. If we take a client at the initial level we do 90 - 100% of the application for them depending on the case. If they were denied, we appeal the decision and handle 100% of the process including attending the hearing with the client. We are also available to answer any questions the client may have at any point in the process.
