Beckstsrom Construction was hired by a new internet provider, MiFi, in our West Des Moines neighborhood. They have destroyed our yard, left trash in our yard, and have left open holes which our children can fall into. We have tried to reach out to them and have left messages but they will not return our calls. Our yard has had large open holes in it for almost a week. Nobody has been to our yard to fix this or to look at it for 5 days. They have also partially sliced our current internet provider's cable when they were digging one of their holes. We need to have them finish their job, fix our yard, and fix the slice in our current internet cable.
Product_Or_Service: digging new internet cable
Other (requires explanation) *** construction needs to contact me and let me know how and when they are going to finish their job, fix our yard, and fix the slice they put in our current internet cable.
I am responding to the complaint #XXXXXXXX in regards to ***. First we were not privately hired by Mr *** to do a job we are working for Mi fiber in the PUE Public Utility Easement. We tried to rectify Mr *** concerns in his back yard as so soon we learned of them. *** our Project Manger called and spoke with Mr *** and his wife *** several times and has also met with them personally at their property. *** explained that the hole was opened so we can locate the current utilities so we can bore in the Mi fiber. But we are at the mercy of the weather. We have had a very wet spring. With the heavy rains our dirt piles from our locate holes are being washed away. Mr *** was explained all this. *** fixed the fencing around the locate hole, see attached pictures. He has been to the *** residents several time to clean up better but the fence is always locked making it inaccessible to even attempt to fix these issue we can at this time. We are sadden by the way Mr *** has handled this whole situation. He made a post on Facebook bashing our company without giving us a chance to fix anything, even after *** talked to him and fixed stuff as best as he could until we finished the project. Mr *** continued on with a complaint to the Revdex.com. As soon as we get a chance to finish the project, our resto crew will be out to repair Mr *** yard to the same condition if not better as before. We just wished Mr *** would of given us the chance, especially after all the communication Brad has had with them assuring them that we were not done and their yard will be restored when we are finished. In the meant time it would make a bigger mess trying to restore anything now with the ground as wet as it is. We are not done with the project and we would have to come back in and open the hole again and making a mess for a second time potentially creating a larger mess than the situation is now.

Unfortunately, *** is being untruthful in their response. The destruction of our yard happened on May 15th. I left messages with *** Construction on May 17th, May 20, and then again on May 21st. None of these messages prompted a return phone call. The only time I heard from the company was after I reported them to the Revdex.com. I have heard from the company only one time (after filing a complaint with the Revdex.com). The dirt from the holes was not washed away due to the rain. There is a 20 ft diameter of where they threw the dirt out of the hole and killed our grass (prior to any rain). Also, they partially sliced our current cable and there has been no communication on when they will get that fixed (although *** said he would fix it the one day he has been there). He is correct that our fence is locked usually but never reached out from the multiple messages we left in order to schedule a time to fix the situation or allow us to leave the fence unlocked for them. As I stated earlier, the only time the company has reached out to us was after we filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. It has now been 3 weeks and we still have damage in our yard. I wish the company had been more diligent when they dug the hole in the beginning by 1. being careful of where they piled the dirt and minimizing the killing of our grass and 2. only digging the hole when it was necessary (not leaving it for 3 weeks). I do hope Mr. understands there is a good chance they will be on video in our back yard going forward. If they would like to get into our back yard they can contact us and we would be happy to schedule a time for their clean up.
