I have received a customer concern from the Revdex.com submitted on 12/8/and assigned an ID of [redacted] Upon reviewing our office documents and interviewing our personnel I submit the following as our responseThe previous occupant of [redacted] *** requested the water service be turned off on Friday, December 8, and this was done as a business operationThat same day the new occupant, [redacted] requested to start new service at this address [redacted] came into our office, signed for service and paid a $billing depositIt is Beckley Water Company's policy to turn new signed for customers on the next business dayOur company personnel are already assigned for the day and pick up new assignments the next morningAlso, our office personnel need to contact the local sewer utility to make sure the customer has signed for service and paid a billing depositHad this incident occurred Monday through Thursday, the new customer would have been turned on the next dayTo respond to the accusation that we should not be able to turn customer's water off on Fridays my response is that Beckley Water Company does not turn water off on Fridays unless requested by the customerThe previous customer made a request on Wednesday, December 6, to have the water service shut off on FridayHad [redacted] made arrangements with Beckley Water Company earlier in the week we would have been able to do a "read off/read on" avoiding this incidentI hope this response clarifies the accounts of this incident

They shut the water off on friday around noon or so and said the don't turn services on on weekends so the water would not and wasn't turned back on until Monday around 2pm-3pmI was the one who had to bring a receipt from the sewage company before I was even able to give them the deposit so they didn't have to contact the sewage company it was already required prior to having the water turned onIm a disabled vetand have a wife and a young daughterWe were here in our new home with no water and now way to shower or clean for pretty much daysI think that response and this situation is unacceptable.

Customer received a bill from Beckley Water Company for a consumption of thousand gallons resulting In a bill of $A supervisor for Beckley Water Company confirmed the reading was correct and the customer's meter was not running, Indicating the customer did not have a leakA man came out
of the house to speak with our supervisorThe man stated he had been working on a float control for a toiletToilets, outside spigots, garden hoses and small children playing with faucets are prime causes for high usage such as this.Beckley Water Company offered to test the customer's meter per regulations but the customer refused.The statement in the "Customer's Statement of the problem"," The Water Company has no explanation of this unheard of amount of water they are claiming my family has used and has even told me they agree it doesn't make sense but that I still have to pay this" is either a statement or a statement where water company employees have been taken out of contextListed above are the possible reasons for the increased water usage.The customer had thousand gallons of water pass through the meter in JulyThe meter reading was checked and confirmed with no leakage detectedAs a result the customer is responsible for the water passing through her meterNo refund or adjustment is justified for this customer.*** ***

In response to the above Case Number, the customer’s refund check was mailed on Monday, April 9, 2018. The meter reading that the customer made reference to in the complaint, was transposed. [redacted] came into our office, signed for service and paid a $30.00 billing deposit. It is Beckley Water Company's policy to turn new signed for customers on the next business day. Our company personnel are already assigned for the day and pick up new assignments the next morning. Also, our office personnel need to contact the local sewer utility to make sure the customer has signed for service and paid a billing deposit. Had this incident occurred Monday through Thursday, the new customer would have been turned on the next day.
