I purchased a 2009 Volkswagon Passat on August 16, 2009 at BB&T autosales in Byhalia, MS. I noticed the oil light flashing on the car before signing a contract on the purchsed and ask if the issue would be taken care of before I signed any contracts. The dealer stated that he would lose money if he fixed the light and that he had already replaced the part and that every Volkswagon in that year has that issue it was nothing to worry about and that he would give me a thirty day warranty to ensure I was purchasing a reliable vehicle. After two weeks the car started shooting oil from the vehicle and the check engine light came on. I contacted the dealer and took the car back to be repaired and stated that I had taken the car to*** to see why the engine light had came on, they stated their code was an engine misfire and that I should take the car back immediately. I took the car back on August 29, 2019 and made the first regular vehicle payment of $168.09. The delar never looked at the check engine light he just bypassed the code on the oil light. They kept the car for two weeks from 8/29/2019 through September 16, 2019. I picked the car back up for the third time with the engine still on I went back in and told him the engine light was on he stated that wasn't covered under the warranty, but the warranty he stated he gave me was for motor and transmission. He waived the second car payment and put it in as if I had just made the down payment, so taht the next payment would be on schedule for 10/1/2019. On October 1, 2019 I had to take the car back again because the engine light started flashing and the car wasn't drivable and did not make that payment for the carnote and he got mad and told me that I drove the car a thousand miles since I bought it and he wasn't going to refund me my down payment because I told him I was tired and becoming stressed over the issue. We had a big altercation and he told me whatever the isusue was I was gone pay for it they wasn't liable for the engine light. He called me on Friday October 4,2019 and stated that the issue relating to the engine light was the coil packs and that they wasn't under warranty so I had to pay him $130 plus the carnote that was due on the first. I paid a total of $304.00 to get the car and on saturday morning October 5,2019 around 9:25 a.m. I was driving the car to the store and the engine light pops on again. I texted him and let him know. I pretty much told him that I wasn't satified with the level of service and taht I would just bring the car back and count it as a loses because I was tired of going back and forward, especially paying someone to take me back and forward to work when the car breaks down spending $40 a day. Either he put me in something else or give me my money back. He stated they didn't do exchanges an they could look at the code I had going on my choice. No compassion and ok with selling LEMON cars. I wondered why it was so easy to purchase from they all you need is a downpayment they don't ask for employment verification or check credit so anybody can buy a car they just want insurance and the binder in case something happens they'll get paid. You don't even have to have a license to purchase a car from them as long as you have the expensive down payment you can get a car through them. I should've known they weren't ligeit.

Refund I haven't had the vehicle two months and believe that I will be constantly fixing and making payments on the car more than I'll ever drive it, I believe that this dealership are selling lemons to who are desperate because of their credit profile and this is why they've gotten away with it for so long. I'm emotionally distressed and just tired of constantly paying someone to take me back in forward to work. I just want my money back because I know I was scammed.

As you can see from the dates of the pictures, the attachments below show proof about the engine light and that all his statements are untruthful. He is a lie, and the truth isn't in him. As I previously stated in my complaint, the oil light was on, and my husband asked him if they could fix that before we bought the car. Bill B said that he would lose money if he fixed the light and that he had already changed out the sending unit. Bill also stated on that model year, those lights don't go off and that his girlfriend had one and hers was on as well. Mr. B said that he would give me a warranty to ensure that the oil light wasn't a problem and just the sensor. I asked him while I was signing the contract with Gary, should I sign the portion he attached since he was adding a warranty on the car for the oil light. He stated yes that the paperwork was just for title purposes and wouldn't affect the warranty as that portion is just indicating that I was buying a used car. After five days of having the car, the engine light came on. However; if you look at the pictures from*** you will notice that the date in the image says August 21st. When my husband went in to make the first payment on August 29th, he addressed the engine light and told Bill that the car had a miss to it. He showed bill the two pictures of the codes that *** had detected, and Bill had his mechanic put the car on the machine and told my husband that he wouldn't be able to leave in the car because the car had a misfire. The two codes were (Cylinder 2 misfire and Boost pressure regulation control range not reached). I do not understand why he is lying about not having any knowledge of the engine light is on; he was aware on August 29th of both problems relating to the car. With this being an issue since August 29th, these two problems to me are the same.
I do not deny the fact that I knew I was buying a car as is and was only aware of the oil light already being on but wasn't aware of any engine problems. If you investigate his response, he's acknowledging that he was made aware of engine problems and has tripped his self-up three times in his statement, which proves he's lying about unknowingly of the engine light is on. Also, he has a three-minute video of him driving the car around the area of Byhalia, which isn't as far as I've driven the car to see the problem. After we picked the car up on September 16th, I did notify him that the engine was still on, with him being so stuck on the oil light he just kept overlooking the engine light. In his mind, that wasn't the problem and wasn't covered in his warranty for the car. On October 1st I was so frustrated with trying to work with him, I took the car back because I had gotten an EPC code on the dash and the engine light was flashing. My husband and Bill had a heated argument because my husband called him out on his *** about the whole car situation. Bill got mad because we knew the mechanic wasn't fixing the problem but bypassing off codes long enough for the warranty to run out. That's when Bill stated that the car had 1,000 miles on it and that whatever the problem was this time, the warranty wouldn't cover.
I spoke up then and told him it didn't matter how many miles the cart had that was the purpose of me buying to drive it back and forward to work, but instead I'm bringing it back every two weeks because I'm still having the same problems they claimed to have fixed in the beginning. On October 4th, Bill contacted me while I was at work and told me that he had to put in some new coil packs; that's why the engine light had been on throughout the process. Again, that's engine problems the warranty was supposed to be for the motor and transmission. I paid the cost for the parts and worked, including the note, which was $304. Per the agreement, if your car is not in a functioning condition when the bill is due, you don't make a payment until the issue has been resolved. So, from my point of view, the note was late, the car wasn't in operating conditions. Also, with me paying the cost of repair, which he stated wasn't covered under the warranty because it wasn't the same issue again, the warranty included the motor and transmission. I only paid for the repair to show the dealer I was willing to work with him to fix my car. After the engine light came back on October 5th, even after him providing a video of him driving the car and the light wasn't on, on October 4th. I was pretty sure that his mechanic was bypassing codes on the vehicle. That's when enough was enough for me. I texted him and let him know, and as always, he was out of town on vacation and would look at the car. If I'm having the same problems, you are aware of why you are continually looking at the car instead of fixing the car while it's under warranty. Out of frustration, I told him I didn't even want the car anymore. I stated that I'd had too many problems and I asked for my money back or an exchange. He never addressed giving me my money back, but the fact that they don't do exchanges and would look at the car. I didn't respond because, at that point; I knew what type of person he was; his real character showed in his response. At that point, I wasn't going to continue to pay for something that I had to put in the shop every two weeks. On October 8th I took chances on driving the car to Holly Springs and as you can see in the attachment below that the engine light and oil light was on. Regarding Bill's statement about the GPS, with me making the payment on the 4th, I was free to drive the car wherever I chose; that was the purpose of the purchase to drive the vehicle. Bill also is lying about the insurance canceling in the automobile. After the tow truck picked the car up on October 11th, he texted and stated the key wasn't in the car, which I knew I had left the key in there two days straight when he lied saying he would send a tow truck on the 9th and didn't. I took the key to his place of business on October 12th and dropped the car off my insurance policy that is very well still effective, as you can see in the attachment below. It's funny that in all his statements, he never acknowledges the fact that after me having the car for almost two months, he still couldn't provide me with proper documentation to get the tag for the vehicle. He was still issuing me drive out tags every two weeks, saying that he had four other cars in front of me. He was trying to get the title to straighten out, and that mines would be last.
Car Dealer Ripoff
March 23rd or 28th I visit this car dealer for a car. I was told the 2014 Dodge Avenger was $6300 CASH and with note $8900. Period nothing more. I paid partial down payment told him I was waiting for a date with IRS and would bring the rest. I was told at that time once that was paid we would complete paperwork etc. Now I was given a piece of paper to sign and it did have 84 months in top left corner. He stated that was an error and it would be corrected. On two receipts I also saw the price of car at $11,000 and another $16,000. I asked him what that was about and he told me BABY GIRL I GOTTA GET MY MONEY. In addition the windshield wiper motor went out as soon as I got on highway, the control on passenger door didn't wasn't secure, breaks weren't good, tune up was needed, right passenger tire was bald, and two weeks later the front wheel alignment was needing to be fixed. All of these things had to have been PATCHED up. When asked what was the 84 months for he stated INTEREST. WE NEVER EVER DISCUSSED THAT. It is against the law to charge interest more than 20-40 months. I paid 1200 Down which left an addition $500 to close out the $1700 dp. he then asked me to bring $500 and another $954. Sales Tax are not $1,000 and he also lied about my car insurance. Threaten to come get my car if the car insurance wasn't paid on the date. Stated there was no arm room and if it wasn't paid he would come get car. I've had insurance before you have a 5-7 day grace period. He lied and said they sent him the 10 day cancellation as a scare tactic. Basically he's a rip off and obviously will take advantage of those who are "HARDUP" for transportation. Another dealer who take people money and soon as they can't take advantage they wanna come get car. Right is right. No one should be taken advantage of.
I need this to not go on my credit and a partial refund of monies that were paid.
customer came in looking for a car. test drove the 2014 avenger the down payment was 1999.50 customer stated she did not have the entire down payment and asked what could be done. offered the customer a 60 day layaway option where she would put down a third of the down payment and make payments for up to 60 days until she had her down payment in and would then take possession of the car at that time. customer stated she was in desperate need of a car and could I work with her. she said she had 1025 to put down and would be able to pay the remainder of the down payment within a week. customer put down 1025 and then called back later and said she did not have enough left to get insurance on the car. we gave the customer back 100 dollars of her deposit so she would be able to put insurance on the car.this left her owing a pick up payment of 1074.50 due on april 13th after talking to the customer several times she finally came in with a 300 dollar payment on april 18th. at that time the customer stated to me that she still had not gotten her refund check. I explained to her that we could put the car behind the gate and let her put it into layaway so that she wouldn't have the balance of the pickup note that was already past due and the scheduled car payment coming due on april 30th. the customer stated she had to have a car and we went over a payment schedule that she agreed to in order to keep the car with payments to be made weekly until she got caught up. customer failed to make the scheduled car payment on april 28th and the car was picked up on april 29th. the customer made no comments about the car needing anything when she test drove the car. did call back a few days later and said the wipers were not working. she brought the car back down and we replaced the windshield wiper motor turns out it was the switch we ordered a new one and notified the customer when it arrived she did not bring the car back in for us to replace the switch. the other issues the customer states are incorrect. we have the forms signed by the customer that cover the cost of the car the pickup payment and the bi monthly payment amounts as well as the finance charges, we have the signed documents to verify this. every effort was made to work with this customer in good faith and she failed to meet her obligations.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I turned around the day I got the car and went back to them about the wipers not working and the part was not in stock they had to order it. Also, on same day after I made it home I called them informing them of door panel. I was offered the layaway plan AFTERRRRR I told them I didn't have a date from the IRS. The car was picked up because I refuse to pay 16,000, 17,000 or 31,000 for that car. That car was NOT picked up because I failed to make my payment arrangements! I asked him what was the 84 months? He said interest. I said we never discussed that and I'm not going to pay 376 x 84 Months=31,000. Again it's against the law to charge anything to that extreme. I told him he could come get the car. I did make all my agreed payments within the timeframe of me having the car. It was a ripoff.
On this attached white piece of paper you can clearly see the car amount we discussed $6300 cash and $8900 carnote and something about 34 months timeframe of car being paid off. But on this paper it has beginning balance of $16,000 This when I asked a second time what this was for? He said he gotta get his money. That let me know then he was screening me around. When I signed some kind of paperwork in beginning Inasked what the 84 months was about he said out his mouth it was a error!!!! And would be changed. The yellow paper was what he wrote down for me to pay by April 30th. On April 25th I told him on the phone I didn't agree with how he is trying to set over on me. I am not paying $31,000 for the car. It is not what was agreed upon and he could come get the car. He only cut the car off as a scare tactic. I had to call him and tell him to come get car he was NOT getting anymore money because of his dishonesty.
This company attempted to get over on me and I do have my receipts that aligned with our VERBAL agreement.
CUSTOMERS PAYMENT SCHEDULE WAS 84 PAYMENTS OF 185.31 FOR A TOTAL OF 15566.04 WE HAVE THE SIGNED CONTRACT FOR THE RETAIL INSTALLMENT FROM THE CUSTOMER. NOT SURE WHERE SHE IS COMING UP WITH THE $31000.00 DOLLAR FIGURE THAT SHE IS STATING IN HER STATEMENT. AGAIN THE CAR WAS PICKED UP BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER FAILED TO MEET THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE THAT SHE AGREED TO. INCLUDING THE BALANCE THAT WAS OWED ON THE INTIAL DOWN PAYMENT. WE TRIED TO WORK WITH THE CUSTOMER WHEN SHE STATED HER INCOME TAX RETURN DID NOT COME IN. SHE FAILED TO MEET THOSE TERMS AS WELL SO THE CAR WAS PROCESSED.
