As part of diagnosing a bunion forming on my right foot, my doctor requested three x-rays to be performed on my foot and then they would be reviewed by a podiatrist for a treatment recommendation. I was under the impression this was all I needed to do. The x-rays were done on 10-24-19 and the copay was $195.92. On the day of the consultation with the podiatrist, it was revealed to me that the series of x-rays I had done on my foot were insufficient for the podiatrist to make a recommendation and I had to do another set of x-rays, this time with weight on my right foot. Even though the first set of x-rays was clearly the incorrect type needed, I was still charged for both sets of x-rays. I have spoken to both Baylor Scott and White's billing office, as well as my doctor's office, and neither group will refund the incorrect x-rays because they are doctor-requested.
