Ms*** RE: Your ID number *** Response as followsI have been in the towing business for years and have never had a Revdex.com complaint. On January 7, Bastin’s Towing was dispatched by FRAZER TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT for an accident. The vehicle in
question was picked up by Lowes and was leaking fluids. The female driver came to check on her car and brought AAA to fix a flat tire. If she wanted her car out of the pen, I told her AAA would have to tow it out at that point in time. She came into the office at which point I informed her of the leaking fluids and she did not know what to do. I told her to (1) pay the tow bill and the car (the tow bill was $and ALL FEES ARE LISTED CLEARLY ON THE BILLBOARD IN THE OFFICE) or (2) she could leave it and I would take $and the title. I am a PA Salvor and I scrap cars, not parts. Scrap value of this particular vehicle is approximately $200.00.At this point in time, my holding pens are full to the gate and I DID NOT WANT THIS VEHICLE as I did not have the room. Her husband came the NEXT DAY with the title and the title WAS NOT IN HIS NAME. Therefore, it was ILLEGAL for me to take this title. He asked to see the vehicle and stated his “buddy” could fix it for $40.00, but he still didn’t want to get stuck with it. My employee told him if he left the car in the storage pen, the fees run DAILY. He came back on Monday to take the car and I charged him $500.00. They are not entitled to any refund when they could have removed the car on any day the previous week. Additionally, I informed the woman on the phone I don’t recommend driving the car because of the fluids leaking. It didn’t matter if it was oil, anti freeze, or other liquids, it will still blow the motor up. Her husbands response was “I’ll drive it until it quits, then I’ll call a tow truck.When trying to advise or help someone this is what happens. In this instance, my only mistake was offering advise instead of just handing her the bill and having them remove the vehicle from my premises.
