Hello, You closed my complaint not responding. However, there is nothing to respond to. The business has not paid us the monies due, so they have NOT resolved this issue. I kindly request you please re-open this case and pursue with vigor. Mahalo,[redacted]
Dear Mrs. Customer,Although we do sympathize with you in this unfortunate set of events, we are unable to agree with majority of the statements which have been made in this complaint. We here at South Maui Motors, take pride in our ability to sell quality vehicles at affordable prices. We do regret...
that once every so many years a used vehicle will, even after we have done all the necessary checks prior to the sale, will on rare occasions not perform the way we expect. Sometimes vehicle malfunction can be due to operator error. On the first vehicle you mentioned, (2001 Chevy Truck) vehicle was sold shortly after you purchased the Honda Pilot with no complaints from the current owner. I personally drove the Honda Pilot for a week to make sure all was well. You test drove the Honda yourself and you too was very satisfied before purchasing it.I do admit, several days after the purchase of the 2006 Honda Pilot, you did call my cell phone and I did meet you in Wailuku on a Sunday, although we were closed. You had a concern regarding your vehicle. After driving it around together, you and your husband agreed that the vehicle was fine and you proceeded to drive home to Lahaina. We did decide to help with the Transmission repair although the vehicle was purchased AS-IS, because we wanted to help you out.We have never demanded any money from any customer of ours for a down payment. It is always your option. We gave you an opportunity to get a vehicle financed because we feel everyone deserves a chance to prove their creditworthiness. The vehicle you purchased is being repaired at no charge to you. We will be contacting you very soon to give you an update and resolve this situation.Thank you,Johnny M[redacted]
Ref.: Complaint # [redacted]- Rejection of Dealer's response dated 6/7/2017Dear Mrs. [redacted],Regarding 2001 Chevy which, again, got broken the very next day it was sold, it was picked up by South Maui Motors. We were told that the problem was the transmission that was broken, that dealer would order a new one. We went every single week after that to check if it was already repaired, dealer representatives
continued to send us back home with the promise that the job would be done for the next. On Jan 17/2017 dealer demanded $500 more and that such amount would be added to down payment. After this payment Terri M[redacted] never again showed face, someone named Bob was always coming out presenting us with a
thousand excuses about why he would not see us. Finally, Johny M[redacted] came show face, I told him "just
give me my money back", he came out with a check for $500 not even 1/4 of the payments we had already given them. Not only that, he even dared to tell us we could not cash the check the same day but four days later. Aware that the Silverado would not be given to us as "Bob" had told us that it had been sold already without out consent, I told Johnny M[redacted] that was unacceptable and told him to give me another car. On 2/23/2016 the Honda Pilot/06 was offered to us.Again, Honda Pilot/06 performed fine during the test drive only. The very next day it got broken again. Johnny M[redacted] came an hour later, it worked. However, after a trip
of approximately 40 minutes back home the Honda got broken again. As it was late at night,we called the next day to report malfunction again. We were told us it could be something minor. Still the dealer told us not to bring it to the shop as their mechanic was "too busy" so we were put on hold awaiting for him to have enough time to take care of the Pilot. As stated in the initial complaint, when we were told that we could bring it (3/6/2017)we were told they had ordered the transmission but it had not arrived yet. We gave it 2 weeks. Again we were told the transmission had not arrived yet. A week later they said the transmission was received now they had to find the time to install it. A WHOLE MONTH later Jhonny M[redacted]states the Pilot would not be repaired at all as it had too many problems. After filing complaint with Revdex.com we got a call from the dealer telling us in intimidating tone that the solution now would be delayed because they had to deal with this and despite of their response stating that South
Maui Motors would 1) repair the Honda Pilot at no cost for us, and 2) call us to give us an update, we have not received neither and just yesterday Terri and Johnny M[redacted] refused to come to the phone.Best regards,[redacted]
