Barnett Roofing recently replaced the roof on our church building and did an excellent job! They were very thorough and did a great job. They were very conscientious about keeping the place clean and neat, and used a large magnet to ensure that no nails were left behind on the ground. Mr. B. would not submit an invoice until he and our maintenance person conducted an inspection of the work and ensured that all of the work was done and was done properly. We will definitely be calling him again if the need arises for more work on our roof.
James [redacted] of Barnett Roofing does great work.
I previously had my roof replaced by another roofing company. I had some shingles on my homeâs roof in various places that another company had installed, that werenât properly nailed where they should be and had come loose and slid down my roof.
I was given Barnett Roofingâs name by a trusted and reputable source. Barnett Roofing has been in business for over 20 years. I have contacted James [redacted] on several occasions to reattach the shingles for me. James [redacted] came out and reattached them and they haven't caused me any more problems since he reattached them. Mr. [redacted] has always been quick to get back to me when I have called him. I have never had any problems with the shingles that he has fixed for me. Also, he's very observant and pays close attention to details. He had noticed that some of my shingles were not nailed in the proper place and he corrected this for me before a future problem developed with those shingles.
He has come out to inspect my roof recently for potential hail damage and found that I had hail damage to my roof. He accurately measured with his measuring tape my very steep roofâs pitches, which range from 4/12 to 12/12 pitch.
He uses high performance and quality materials that hold up well to strong winds. I plan to use him for my roof repair and would use him again should the need arise. I have recommended Barnett Roofing to several friends and customers and would easily recommend Barnett Roofing over other local roofing companies, like
Keithâs Roofing or Final Touch Roofing.
This firm represents Barnett Roofing Company. I am in receipt of a copy of your letter dated March 8, 2014, to Mr. [redacted] detailing a complaint that the Revdex.com ("Revdex.com") has received from [redacted] and [redacted].
By way of background, Barnett Roofing...
contracted with the [redacted]s to complete roof repairs in 2000, for which the [redacted]s paid Barnett Roofing the contracted price, In late 2013, the [redacted]s contacted Barnet Roofing complaining of leaking due to roof problems and stated that they believed the problems stemmed from faulty work completed by Barnett Roofing in 2000, Under Arizona law, the time period for bringing a claim of faulty workmanship before the [redacted] is 2 years and a breach of contract claim in [redacted] is 6 years. Therefore, the [redacted]s should have made a claim for faulty repair by the latest in 2002 or for breach of contract in 2006 if they felt that the work was substandard. Clearly, the work performed in 2000 was satisfactory, as the [redacted]s have not complained of any problems until 2013.
Upon receiving the complaint for faulty work from the [redacted]s, although there was no warranty obligation stemming from the 2000 repair, Barnet Roofing agreed to send [redacted] to the property to look at the problem. [redacted] visited the property and, free of charge, removed roof tiles above the leaking area, cleaning out the accumulated leaves and debris which were the likely cause of the leak and further replaced the felt underlayment, which had rotted-out. Barnett Roofing only visited the property as a favor to the and did not charge the [redacted]s for the visit to their property or for the minor repair work that [redacted] performed. As the leaky roof had caused water intrusion, resulting in water damage to the interior walls of the home, [redacted] provided Ms. [redacted] with the name of a repairman and painter that could repair the interior walls. Ms. [redacted] eventually contracted with [redacted] to complete repairs to the interior walls. The [redacted]s paid [redacted] $600 for the repair work. Barnet Roofing did not contract for or perform interior repairs to the [redacted]s' home. Additionally, Barnett Roofing did not seek nor was it paid compensation for any repairs to the home.
After paying [redacted] for the repair work to the interior walls, Ms. [redacted] contacted Barnett Roofing, demanding reimbursement for the cost of repairs to the interior walls. As previously stated, Barnett Roofing had not performed work on the roof since 2000. The work performed in 2013 was completed simply as a favor, and was not the cause of the damage to the interior walls. In fact. the damage to the interior walls occurred prior to Alan's visit and was evident at the time of his visit.
Based on the foregoing fact, the [redacted] have no basis for complaint against Barnett Roofing. Barnett roofing did not cause the damage to the [redacted]'s property. Barnet Roofing did not charge the [redacted]s for the visit or minor repair work to their roof in 2013. And Barnett Roofing is not responsible for the [redacted]'s payment to [redacted] for the work the the [redacted]s contracted with that company to perform. Therefore, I respectfully request that the Revdex.com close the above referenced complaint.
Should you require additional information on this matter in order to assist in making a determination as to whether the Revdex.com will require further investigation, please feel free to contact me directly.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
You have the letter from Barnnett's Roofing's attorney; thank you for sending a copy. This letter referred to a 2000 repair date. We did indeed contract Barnnett's in 2000, that to lay a proper layer in anticipation to our installing Solar. We have no complaint for the work done at that time. In February 6 , 2013, We engaged [redacted] to repair a leak which caused interior damage. He came and worked to find and repair the leak. We paid him $1,431.61. Mr. [redacted] recommended people to repair the ceiling and repaint that and the walls; we contracted same and paid them separately. Upon returning to Mesa from spending the summer in Payson, we were surprised to see that the interior had identical damage as before Mr. [redacted] said the leak had been repaired. Upon calling [redacted] Barrnett, he was concerned, and seemed ready to help, but spoke of having more or less retired from doing work himself, and would send (I believe his son-in-law)[redacted] to take care of the situation. After some wait, [redacted] did come, find the problem and solve it. He also offered to take responsibility for the interior repair. For this we waited months. When a "repair" crew arrived, it was one person who took one look at the damage, and managed to make it known in English that this was far too big a job for one person. This person had come to do the entire repair alone in under 3 hours. This person had no license nor insurance. That was the end of help from Barnnett's Roofing. We had no use of our Arizona room for entertaining for months, and were unable to put up a tree for the Christmas season as we waited. Finally we sought estimates which resulted in our engaging [redacted]. Mel, who with a helper, in two days, did the interior repair for the very reasonable sum of $600 - the exact amount that Mr. [redacted] had said it would likely cost him. We believe it only reasonable that Mr. [redacted] pay us this fair and expected amount for promised work. We favored him with the time we spent getting his work done. 1 expect that should we hire a lawyer who argues as well as does Mr. Potter, we should be able to collect more than this simple $600 repair. We have experience with courts and property damage; being landlords, and believe we know what to expect as fair and ethical due. [redacted] Barnnett has done many thousands of dollars work on our house over the years; I cannot believe we would have had this argument were he still managing the Company. Thank you for your help, and kind further consideration. ck to Barnnett Roofing of 2/6/13 and photos of damage.
Sincerely,
[redacted] & [redacted]
