On 6/18/20 I Bought three coins that were counterfeit and I attempted to get refund but was told that they were mine that I had bought them.
I bought three Trade Dollars on 6/18/20 for ten dollars each at around ten in the morning after I had paid for them the sales lady did not give me a receipt. She was just too busy to produce one for me. I left the shop and walked around the city enjoying the sights. After awhile as my wife was shopping I looked again at my purchases and realized that they were counterfeit so I went back to the shop and asked for a refund but was told by the same sales lady that the store was now closed and that I had to leave. So I had the opportunity to be in Havre de Grace again on6/22/20 at about opening time and spoke with a lady who said that she is the owner and was told that the other sales lady had told her about me asking for a refund on the 18th she told me basically the same thing that I had purchased them and that they were mine. So I did not want to cause a scene so that is why I am seeking your help.
Refund
When Mr. bought these coins - he asked for a magnifying glass - he was given a loupe which he used to examine these coins. On one of these coins is the word "copy" written on the back. The 3 coins that he bought he paid $10 a piece for them - so a total of $30. If these coins were real they would cost a whole lot more then $10 and he knows that. I feel that he thought he was going to get over on us and when he realized they were copies he wanted to return them. My store policy is "all sales final" and there are signs posted in my store. When he came to our store the 2nd time and tired to return them, he went to the police station first and that got him no where. He then came in the store and when I refused to take the coins back, he told me that he was going to the "State Police and or his attorney." I told him he could do whatever he wanted but threatening me wasn't going to get him anywhere. I would feel more compelled to bend my store policy if I knew that he wasn't trying to pull a fast one that failed. I also do not like being threatened. The bottom line is that my store policy is that all sales are final and he knew that when he bought the coins.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There is not the words "copy" on the back or front of any of the three coins. I just feel that this business has treated me unfairly and also there was at the time of me buying the fake coins on sign posted about " no return "
There isn't really anything I need to say further to this person's rebuttal. Except that he thought he was pulling a fast one and it backfired on him. He thinks he is being treated unfairly because he isn't getting his way. My policy is that all sales are final, especially in this case.
