I was given a quote for an apartment at Bainbridge and was promised that quote was good for 48 hours. After watching the pricing for the next two days and contemplating the move, I called to confirm to please lock in the apartment at that rate. I was told I would need to move in the next weekend to lock in that price still, and I agreed. Mind you I had plans to go out of town that weekend for vacation but cancelled then in order to lock in the quoted rate. I had multiple conversations with the leasing specialist throughout the different days to discuss. I went in to move in a week after and realized the amount on the lease agreement I was about to sign was NOT what I agreed to a week prior. I then found out that on top of the $500 transfer fee I would be charged rent for both apartments while I move my stuff (mind you I'm single and new to the area and can only afford movers for the big stuff). I was never told about these additional charges until the day I'd move in. I am now stuck with the move as I already have everything transferred and movers scheduled. The leasing specialist and property manager said they didn't have any record of quoting me the price they did. Mind you, I have been renting since I was 19 as I have moved a lot and I have never had a leasing consultant quote me and then blame me that I didn't have anything in an email to confirm! This is your job and your quoting system! They said the quote was good for 48hours and when I requested to lock in the price I even stated at the price originally quoted and was never questioned or made aware that this would not be the price until the move in day. I truly in my heart am so disappointed and shocked by what happened to me. Honestly at a loss for words.
Product_Or_Service: Apartment
Billing Adjustment All I want is to be charged what I was quoted. I had 48 hours to make my decision and made multiple decisions to comply with what I was told. The fact that something like this can happen at a reputable corporation is beyond fathomable and unacceptable.
