We tried to resolve the issue with the customer multiple times. We have explained to the customer the terms and conditions of our services on the back of the receipt. The company's liability with respect to any lost or damaged article shall not exceed 10 times our charge for processing it. That would be a maximum of $200 for reimbursement for a jacket we believe is in wearable condition. Her coat did not come in brand new and we process all the dry cleaning articles in the same machinery. Her coat has a manufacturing defect which the black leather bleeds onto the tan parts of the coat. We were able to remove the bleeding from the coat, but the customer claims the coat is not in new condition which over time, clothes do wear out with cleaning and wearing. We explained if she cannot accept our apology with reimbursement and on top of paying for half the cost of the coat, then she will have to file a complaint with the court. Months later, during times in which businesses are very slow due to the economic crisis, she comes in asking for more money which is not feasible at the moment. In our position, she should not be entitled to any type of reimbursement except the cost of processing her coat, but we were being generous in offering more. We will not be giving her the same offer since she did not accept when it was on the table. We are very kind to all of customers and have many great reviews, but she is trying to take advantage of a small business that is willing to go beyond to help all of their customers.
This dispute can not be resolved with the two parties. This matter will have to be settled in a *** They want reimbursement for a brand new coat when it was a used coat that needed dry cleaning and it is still in good condition. Also, they are also aware of the disclaimer on the back of the receipt.

I am rejecting because before giving me the jacket they never told me there terms and conditions. They never asked me if they could unstitch the jacket they took the decision to unstitch the jacket without telling me. When they gave me the jacket a bottom was missing and it looked and felt really damaged and it looked like they took the fur out of it. If he said that he was going to pay for the jacket I don't understand why he is now saying he isn't going to pay for it. They should take responsibility for the damage they did. I have a receipt that the jacket is new and it was my first time I took it to the dry cleaners.
