On 10/1/19 check 1613 $2000 was cashed immediately after *** received it from us at *** in Blue Springs for deposit on handrails, kitchen cabinets, back splash and kitchen floors. We put a $500 deposit down for each being told that they would start 11/11/19 and we would be the only job until he was done and that was supposed to be 12/7/19. On 11/19/19 check 1620 for $3000 was again immediately cashed by *** at *** in Blue Springs for a deposit on our roof repairs that he was going to complete in 2019. The excuses started as to why he could start work as promised and work started on 11/21 and we were told it would be a 3 day project that took 8 days. 3 days after the new tile was installed the grout was coming out and the tiles are popping. The next project was the handrail being replaced. This was supposed to be a day project and after 2 weeks the project was not even half done and the excuses just continued. This won't take stain- oh I need this and I forgot- etc. We had another contractor come in and complete this work. At this point the cabinets had to be pushed to January because all the other projects were so far behind. We then were told on 12/10 that the floor crew that was supposed to be completing our floor the next week canceled cause they were double booked. This was the last excuse we could take. On 12/12/19 were sent *** a termination of work letter. We requested a refund in the amount of $4000.00 for the roof deposit and the kitchen cabinets and floors since none of those projects were started. *** stated in writing that he would pay us on 12/17/19 the $4000.00, but again that date came and went with excuses as to why we weren't refunded. We had another contractor come in to look at the tile entry way floors that *** did to see if they could be fixed and they can't. We will now be out another $2000 in labor and materials to make those repairs.
