Review: I came to this shop for them to plug my tire, I had hit a pothole and there was a small leak that was located on the tread. This was a perfectly good tire that had not been warn or damaged. I don't drive my car a lot I drove it one time after the tire had been plugged. I was driving along 301 the car started shaking and my tire blew out. The same day my tire blew out I went to the shop. My boyfriend spoke to [redacted] who told us that there was nothing he could do about it because the manager was not available, I found out later that night by visiting the website that [redacted] is the manager of that location. I had my boyfriend come out and make [redacted] come out and look at my tire, he said he understood and after he talked to the manager he would call us on Monday to let us know what he had said. I find that totally unacceptable that there would be know manager on duty at the time of my complaint, he had my boyfriend call some shop in DC and that's where he talked to a [redacted], he said that I could not prove that his shop caused the damage he told me that I could get another tire and that his shop would put the tire on my car, that was also unacceptable. A tech at this shop was the last person that touched my tire, after they plugged my tire, the guy who I cashed out with who I later found out was the manager told me that everything looked good on my tire and I was ready to go, the only thing that was on my paper to look at was a fuel induction system. They are unprofessional and do not take ownership on issues that they have caused, [redacted] made it seem like it was my fault. I was also upset that he would make decisions without even looking at the damage that was caused to my tire. My boyfriend and I had in in depth conversation to try and resolve this issue but did not get anywhere with that.Desired Settlement: I want a replacement of the tire that blew out free of charge.

To whom it may concern:

The customer came in for a tire plug on 9/3/13. We were able to repair the tire and send the customer on their way. A few days later the customers comes into the shop and informs us that the tire is damaged while driving and that it was our fault. The store manager had to take a moment and speak with me [redacted] as acting General Manager. I spoke with the store manager [redacted] and asked him about the tire as well as the inspection. I then contacted the customer and informed that that because the problem happened a few days later and there was no sign of where we could have damaged her tire that we could not replace the tire. They informed me that because we were the last ones who worked on the tire that we must have damaged it. I tried to explain to them that there tire was damaged once because of something that they ran over. There was no way that we can prove what damaged the tire. We have 5 shops in the Maryland/ DC area and have seen all kinds of damage done to tires from things in the road as well as things that fly off of vehicles onto the road. Now in interested of customer service I did inform the customer that if they bought a new tire that I would install it at no charge. But because the incident happened a few days after leaving my shop and there was no sign that the shop caused the damage to the tire we can take reasonability for the customers tire being damaged. Now our offer still stands as a good faith offer to our customer but that is as far as the company is willing to go at this time. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me.

Review: I had my vehicle towed to AYT on March 28th since it wouldn't start. I got a call the following day from AYT stating that I needed a new starter motor and the cost would be $515 which I thought was highly excessive so I asked to speak to the manager. The person on the phone told me the manager was unavailable and would call me back. I said ok, go ahead and complete the work since I needed my truck for a hauling job the next day but I need the manager to call me back asap to discuss this price. I never received a call back and when I went to pick up my truck after repair was made he said it's an additional $50 for a wiring harness that I needed. I paid for it and again said I needed to speak to the manger who was again unavailable. I told the person who I paid to have the manager call me as SOON as he gets in. I've never received a call back. AYT charged me $279 for a starter which costs $189 at the MOST from almost every local auto parts store in the area and that's without turning in the old one in which you get money back for. Also once I got home from picking my truck up, I discovered my sunroof didn't work. I never had problems with my sunroof and it worked perfectly until they did these recent repairs. AYT has terrible customer service and this isn't the first incident i've had with this shop. My family and I have spent thousands of dollars in repairs with them over the years and they don't have the descency to return my call, yet they can call quickly when it's time to tell me what the repair cost is.Desired Settlement: I'd like a call back to discuss this issue AND or a refund for the difference between the cost of the starter motor and the actual retail cost. I'd also like them to repair my sunroof but i'm concerned that they'll damage something else. Bottom line, I need a call back, Refund and/or additional free repair of my sunroof.
