AWS-Tiltin Windows, Doors, and More

We hired Tiltin based on the estimate they provided. They seemed to be the most reasonably priced in the area. They informed us during the estimate process that they would not have to remove our trim to install new windows, which was a big deal to us because we had spent hours and hours painting the original trim white. We hired them to install 8 windows.
They were timely to arrive and got to work. I found it odd, however that they did not have many tools with them. They ended up using our saw to do a lot of cutting...what if we wouldn't have had a saw?
The began removing the old windows....and the trim! They now said they couldn't do the install without taking it off. Big problem. They finished installing and were made aware of how unhappy we were about the trim being removed. They offered to replace it. They replaced it with cheap unprimed pine when we requested white primed wood at the very least to compensate. They said the went to two stores and nobody had any primed trim. Very doubtful. Funny we had no problem finding it at our local Home Depot for $.57 per foot.
They left for the day without finishing the job. None of the windows were wrapped on the outside, leaving our house exposed to the elements. They came back several days later.....almost 2 weeks in between. They wrapped the outside of the windows and then painted the inside trim for us, which was nice but did some of the worst caulking I have ever seen. The put this really strange "framing" on the inside of the windows...something I have never seen anywhere.
Now that we are finally able to put our blinds back up, we are now seeing another ramification of the original trim being removed...our custom blinds no longer fit. The openings of the windows are now almost 2 inches larger than they originally were, leaving large gaps on each side of the blinds. These blinds were fairly pricey so now I'm very unhappy that we paid for custom blinds that now look "uncustom".
All in all, this company could have done a much better job with this project. The guys were both very nice that we worked with so I almost feel bad writing such a terrible review.
If you're looking for windows at a good price, you might be happy with Tiltin. I wish we would have saved ourselves the headache and went with Window World or something a bit better. It's true...you get what you pay for.

The owner and workers were nice and tried to be accommodating, for 23K plus, I would hope so. I wouldn't have cared how long it took, I understand delays due to weather, however they showed up usually around 11am and were done by 4pm because it was getting dark. There were also a number of nice days where they didn't show up, nothing was done and on raining days, they were out there in raincoats. It took much longer than expected. The siding was good but trim work was very poor, the vinyl was cracked, uneven and corners did not match. I even questioned if they had ever done this type of work before. Each day I would go over their work and make notes and even took pictures and passed them on to the business owner. They would re-do and sometimes re-do again. I finally just wanted them gone. Still the corner pieces and frame around the door are all different lengths, we plan on waiting for warm weather and trim it up ourselves.

Review: On May 17, 2013 I contracted with Mr. [redacted] of Tiltin Windows, Doors and More to install two bedroom windows and

a patio door. They had to be specially made and on June 26 the installation started. At the time of purchase I was told the windows and patio door could be installed in one day. Because the installers did not arrive until noon they could only install the windows. The next day, again, the installation did not start on till noon. The lock for the patio screen door and a stopper for the patio door was missing and I was told they would come back with the lock and stopper and finish the installation. About a week later I could not lock one of the windows and I called Tiltin and Mr. [redacted] came the next day and he showed me what was wrong and I did get the window locked. However, I am still having problems locking this window so I feel that the problem was not fixed, On July 16, I went to the store and told one of the workers about this problem. He wrote down all the information and told me he would give it to Mr. [redacted]. I have not heard from them yet. I paid $4752.00 on June 26 and I feel the work is not done yet and the window that I can not lock is defective. I would like to have the patio screen lock and patio door stopper installed and the window that I can not lock fixed or replaced.Desired Settlement: Patio screen lock and patio door stopper installed and bed room window fixed.

Spoke to customer she is aware that the patio door parts just arrived from the manufacture yesterday, and we are installing them tomorrow. Will also adjust window for customer, however, the size of the window makes it difficult for some. From the time we ordered the replacement parts to now has been a couple weeks, bit overzealous.

Tiltin added value to my house by putting new windows and siding...the products were the best we could find and the price was fair..The job was done with accuracy and they were very meticulous. Clean up was great and they workers were very polite and helpful.
