I went to Autoline in search of a used ***. I went through the hassle of submitting my income several times, trying to negotiate a price, interest rate and a lower monthly payment. All was agreed upon until I sat in front of Tony the finance manager. Suddenly, the interest rate went up and (I was told) I had no choice but to purchase the bumper to bumper warranty that any *** dealership would accept because the finance company, ***, would not finance me otherwise.
I now know that Tony knowingly misrepresented: (1) the requirement of *** for me to purchase a warranty in order to be financed. I contacted ***. I was not only told they had no such requirement but the representative that I spoke with said I signed a contract with bold letters stating I did not have to buy the warranty. I asked him to email the contract to me that he had. It was one that I never seen, had an 'electronic' signature and was signed 4 days after I actually signed a contract in Autoline. I do not know which company falsified the one he emailed to me. My contract has the same disclaimer but Tony deceitfully omitted that part as I signed papers that he shoved in front of me while he summarized what each one said (salesperson's trick).
(2) The warranty was grossly overpriced. I have since purchased another warranty for a few dollars more that covers me bumper to bumper for five years!
(3) The warranty that Tony claimed was bumper to bumper is only a powertrain warranty.
I tried to cancel the warranty with PWI (the warranty company) and they told me that they are a wholesale company who only deals with dealerships. They said I had to contact Autoline.
When I contacted Tony by email to ask him to cancel his response was, "Nobody can force you to purchase the warranty. If you want to cancel the warranty call the warranty company and cancel it. It's as simple as that."
He knows I cannot cancel with the warranty company and he knows he forced me to purchase a useless warranty.
Revdex.com Complaint ID: *** (***) This is the response to false accusation made by customer: 1. The interest rate didn't go up. Whatever interest rate bank gave we put on your deal. We are not the bank and we don't decide interest rate.
2. We explained customer pretty well that there's a warranty and it comes with a charge. There's no free warranty. Nobody forced the customer to buy the warranty and therefore to purchase the car. You signed all the papers that states in 3 or 4 places there's a warranty on this deal. You could have just declined it that simple.
3. When you sign hard copies at the office we send electronic documents to the bank and keep hard copies in the office. There are no falsifications here. You have papers in your hand look at the contract. If you need it we can send you original paperwork with your original signatures.
4. There's a price for all warranty plans. The one you got costs $1899. You should have declined while you were signing documents. After 5 month of purchasing the car, you just noticed that there's a price for warranty?
5. We didn't claim it is a bumper to bumper warranty. How can we lie to you then give you Powertrain warranty to sign. That's a false and baseless accusation. Apparently you don't read what you sign. Our advice to you, please read what you sign before you enter into contract.
I attached Bill of Sale, 3t4 page of Contract and Warranty contract that clearly shows warranty information and pricing and customer signed all of them.
At this point, there's nothing we can do. But as goodwill, we can send her $300 check to settle this claim.
Thanks, Tony Manager

Again customer's accusations are baseless. How can you require someone to buy something? Please read your contract where it says this service contract is optional. Read before you sign. Nobody is taking advantage of you. Nobody told you it is a bumper to bumper. You have a service contract that you SIGNED in three different places that say it is a POWERTRAIN warranty and this is the PRICING for it. How can someone tell you something and on the paperwork it is different? What if you read it and told me hey you told me bumper to bumper warranty but it says Powetrain here? Second how can you tell me it is a requirement and it says here optional? This is a valid business how can we tell lies to people everyday like that? We don't operate like that. You got us mixed with some corner crook business operating like that only a few months.
We are repeating again, you have signed hard copies here we have proof of your original signatures and you have copies. Bank just keeps electronic documents in file. There's no fraud, no falsifications here. You have signed all paperwork and that's the proof.
We show a dirty car to customers??? This is really nonsense. So we are trying to make cars look dirty to hide damages? Really? You realized this after 5 month? No comment I'm speechless. Even after 1 month of purchasing car you were so happy and asked me to send you cargo cover and I purchased out of my pocket and sent you and you thank me. You never mentioned anything you were so happy. Somebody probably told you something and you are acting different now and trying to gain something out of business after 5 month.
In the end, majority of our customers are happy with their purchase. Sorry we can't make everyone happy and we wish you good luck.
Thanks,
Tony

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:It does not offer a resolve and it continues to blame me, the customer, for their unethical business practices. It is evident in their answer to my claim that they are unprofessional and very defensive when called out about their actions. I am attaching a list of online reviews about Autoline of Va that I have gathered. While not every customer had my experience, those that had bad experiences and that chose to review them, had too many similarities as mine for Tony to say that I am lying and that I should have read the paperwork. In addition, it is a lie about the contracts being the same. They are not even formatted the same ---one I signed and the other I did NOT sign or even see until I contacted *** about the warranty and they emailed it to me- yet, it has 'my' electronic signature. Why would I sign a contract AFTER I have already purchased the car...several days after??I also have pictures of the attempted 'cover up' of the scratches and marks that are on the car and were there since purchase. I am very suspicious that Autoline is "Title Washing" which means changing CarFax Reports to take off reported damages but I cannot prove it. However, too many reviews, even some good reviews talked about damage that became apparent after purchase. I will be addressing the fact that I, too, have only ONE key and have to replace two very worn tires. Yes, these are things that I chose initially not to address since it is a used car but they certainly help to showcase the integrity and trustworthiness (or lack thereof) of Autoline of Chantilly, VA.

this company is fraud sold a car it was damage without telling the customer a lot of fraud activity going on the dealer, I purchased a car they said they did Virginia state inspection already and it passed but few days later I took it they state showed me all the items that was rejected. Now they will not refund me the money back at all.
Customer came to our dealership on 7/13/2019 to look at the vehicle. He checked out the car and test drove it. Then he wanted to finance the vehicle. We did in house finance for customer. He took the vehicle that day.
After two days customer called us saying that he wants to buy it cash and cancel financing. The original price of the car was $4990. Customer insisted that he wants to pay cash and cancel financing for the vehicle and we gave him $800 discount on the price and sent him new paperwork to sign and he signed and transferred the money via wire transfer.
We explained customer that you are buying 13 year old vehicle with 155k miles and car comes as-is and we don’t assume any responsibility. After driving three days customer sent the payment to us. Car passed Virginia Safety Inspection and we are not responsible outside VA inspection. Customer lives in Maryland and he is responsible for Maryland inspection. We are Virginia dealer and we are only responsible for VA Inspection.
When customer was in the dealership he saw the vehicle, checked it out and test drove it. He drove the vehicle for three days before he signed new paperwork and transferred the money. If there was a problem in the car from first day he wouldn’t transfer money after three days. We told him that you are buying old luxury vehicle with high mileage and we gave you $800 discount on the price and we are selling this vehicle as-is. Customer signed all the papers and sale was completed.
Customer also signed the form stating all sales are final and there’s no cooling off period.
Customer then committed bank fraud. He went to his bank and reported wire transfer as fraudulent transaction. We reported to police right away. Customer is currently being investigated by Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Fraud Department for doing bank fraud.
I am going to tell the whole back story so you can understand the whole situation. I bought a car about a month ago at Autoline in Chantilly. When I first test drove the car it was pulling to the right and so I told them before I bought the car I would like this issue resolved. The next time that I came in they gave me a report saying that they realigned the tires and the car is driving perfectly fine, so I did not think of test driving it again. I signed the paperwork and paid them their money and walked out the door. They later after I signed all the paperwork and left they notified me that the price I traded in my vehicle for was wrong ($500 instead of $2000). I was not able to go back and resign the paperwork, because I would be out of town. This is when I really started to see how shady this dealership was they asked me to pay over the phone. No dealership or any place of business should ask you to pay over the phone when but especially if you have already paid them all the money both agreed to. They had already proven they were not trustworthy after not fixing the tire issues. On top of this they pretended to never process my loan and said that I stole the car and they were going to call the police on me when I said I could not come back to sign the paperwork (I physically could not because I was not in the area). Since they were so threatening to me I no longer wanted to do business with them, so I told them it is what it is in the paperwork. I paid them to do my title when I bought the car, but because they are mad I did not give them the additional money after the deal they refuse to do my title even though I paid already in the bill of sale. I called and they said "you know what you know what you need to do" and hung up. I need a third party help because they are so hostile to me and also this unprofessional behavior needs to be brought to attention.
From: Friends at AutolineDate: Fri, Nov 2, 2018 at 7:43 PMSubject: Compliant IDTo: ***@myRevdex.com.org <***@myRevdex.com.org>Cc: ***@***.com <***@***.com>, Hamidov R <***@***.com> Dear Revdex.com team,
The story customer explained to you little bit fiction and misleading. Firstly, we did everything we promised. We made alignment on the car and customer can go and check it wherever she wants. Secondly, we agreed on the deal to deduct 500 dollars for the trade in first day when she came for test drive.
Customer reserved the car and showed up after couple days to pick up the car. Customer came very busy time and our sales person took care of paperwork. Unfortunately, he made human error and put wrong numbers on Bill of Sale. Because the same time he was appraising other car and by accident sales representative put other vehicle appraisal price on this deal. However, customer knew everything and kept silence using error and misleading sales representative. Consequently, 10 minutes after we released vehicle Brian understood that he made human error and called customer back. Customer answered phone and said that she is coming back. Customer did not show up and did not respond to other calls. Next day her mom called and told us they are not willing to come and change anything. That time we responded that we did not deposit paid amount for car to our bank and we are willing to cancel the deal if they don’t pay the difference which is $1500. At the end they agreed to pay difference and resign contract when she will be back from the trip. But customer never called and never responded again. Our all business built on trust and we run this business with ethics and morality. People make errors in life, nobody is perfect. However, it does not mean other people should use this situation.
We do not think we entitled to release title and finalize deal until customer pays off all deferred amount. Additionally, there is other option. Customer can get her trade in car back and pay us 2000 down payment.
The only think we are trying to do is honest and fair business and expecting the same from other party.
Best Regards,
Sean (General Manager)
