I visited the Auto Spa Car Wash on *** on February 22 or 23 2020. I used bay number 3 of the car wash. The wash felt rather rough but I didn't think much of it at the time. After leaving the wash I exited my car to find a scrape in the rear fender just behind the rear driver side wheel. I went back to the *** across the street which operates the wash and filed a written complaint with the manager on duty. She said they would review the video and respond by Monday. On Tuesday I got a call from the manager and she said it was not their fault. She sent me blurry video of outside the wash alleging no damage. The video was so blurry I could not even read my own license plate let alone make out paint scratches. She refused to show video from inside the wash and said her boss would be in contact with me. To date I have not received any contact from other staff. I got an estimate for repair of my car of nearly $***.
Repair I would like to have the damage to my car repaired or cost of repair reimbursed.
We have reviewed the video from the site in question and feel confident that the vehicle damage photographed did not happen while in the car wash. While there may be some glare from the sunlight as the vehicle leaves the wash it is clear to us that there are no scuff marks or scratches to the left quarter panel of the vehicle as it leaves the wash.
We also reviewed the tire brush portion of the video and are confident they are working properly. The brushes move in directly to the tire on the rear of the vehicle and the front of the vehicle. These brushes are not made of material that would damage a vehicle's finish. If for some reason, the wheel brushes would have been out of line and not hit the wheel directly, there would have been damage on both the driver's side and the passenger's side since they are lined up directly across from each other.
Based on our review of the video and car wash operation, this vehicle was not damaged in our car wash. We have notified the consumer of our findings via letter sent USPS and also forwarded the video to the consumer on a USB thumb drive.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have not been able to view the video in question. I have a text message from the IT personal promising the video would be put on a USB drive and mailed to my address on Wednesday March 11th. It is now Monday March 16th and the USB has not arrived by mail. The company has repeatedly denied me access to the video at multiple levels of management. Further not one individual in the company has apologized for any inconvenience I have experienced in the past three weeks I have had to deal with them. I have already had the paint repaired at a cost of $***. I left another voicemail with Mark *** today asking why I have not received a video that was supposedly mailed 5 days ago but my voicemail has not been returned. The USPS should be able to deliver to make a local delivery in less than 5 days. This company refuses to be accountable or provide any level of customer service.
