I am a resident in the state of NM, and have recently been looking for a commuter vehicle. I was searching on Cargurus and saw a vehicle I liked and was interested in. The website referred me to Auto Champion in Arlington, TX. I requested information on the vehicle, additional pictures and also asked if there was any dents or interior damage. The vehicle is a 2014 so I am absolutely aware of wear and tear. Pictures and vehicle information I was sent showed a very well maintained vehicle. I was told no dents or interior damage. Vehicle information showed the title as clean and also stated that the vehicle had no accidents reported. When I received the vehicle by carrier yesterday (07/28/2020), I was very upset and taken back. The vehicle has clearly been involved in an accident. There is visible scratches and dents to the exterior of the vehicle. The back rear headlight is out. The vehicle is not what was shown and advertised to me. I looked up the vehicle on Carfax and it shows the vehicle as being a TOTAL LOSS vehicle. This information was not disclosed to me, and the vehicle information that was sent was clearly false. I spoke to the father (owner)of Auto Champion and stated I did not want the car and wanted my money back. He told me he would give me $500.00 to fix the problem. I am not willing to settle for a vehicle that was sold to me as a clear title when it is a Total loss vehicle. Because of covid and because of my job I chose to shop online and have the vehicle shipped. I am very unhappy and disgusted with this company and the way they have handled this situation. I was told I should have gone to the lot to see the vehicle before I bought the car. Very bad customer service and false advertisement. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.
Attention: To whom it may concern.Ms. *** had purchased a car from our dealership
over the phone. We have been in business for over 10 years now and we never had
a complaint or bad review from a customer as we always make sure the customer
is happy and taken care of. She asked questions about the car and I told her it
drives well with no issues. Engine, Transmission, Tires, Battery, Bluetooth,
Back-Up Camera, Blind spot Camera, Sunroof are all in perfect working
conditions. Once the wire transfer was made Ms. had arranged her
own transportation to New Mexico. Upon arrival she had noticed the car was
dirty and dusty from being transported from state to state. The transporter
even offered to wash the car and shine up the tires to make the customer happy.
After the wash customer refused to pay the transporter because she noticed the
car had some scratches around the car. ALL USED CARS have scratches. There is
not a single used vehicle without a single scratch. That’s what a USED car is.
It will have wear and tear because the car is 6 years old and has over 60k
miles. Brand new vehicles are available and the same car Honda
Accord Coupe EX-L brand new with ZERO scratches and ZERO miles at the Honda
Dealership would be around $32,000-35,000. We had the car listed for $12,500 at
first. Dropped it down to $12,000. Then Ms. and I negotiated to get the
price down to $11,500. No Documentation fees, no prep fees, nothing. We waved
all dealership fees. I’m so sorry if your experience was not as you wished or
expected. I personally would never buy a used car just buy looking at the
pictures online. You were free to come and check it out, or if that was not
convenient you could have had a pre purchase inspection done by a third party.
We had a customer last month from Portland Oregon who had a pre purchase
inspection done before flying out and driving the car all the way back. He has
already put 5,000 Miles on the vehicle and 100% satisfied. Mistakes were made
on the customers end by not taking necessary steps in order to insure 100%
satisfaction before making the purchase, as if Ms. had done so we would
not be in this predicament.
Ms. *** also signed the AS-IS NO WARRANTY Paperwork attached. We aren't responsible if anything goes wrong.
