Dear [redacted]I am responding to your letter dated April 8, 2015 regarding complaint filed by [redacted].[redacted] came into our shop on April 6, 2015 stating that he had a tire on his [redacted] that was leaking air and would like us to check and fix it. Our technician used a...
manual jack to take the tire off of the car, tested it and determined that the placement of the leak was too close to the sidewall of the tire to fix and advised the customer of his finding. At that point, the customer didn't want anything else done. We put air in the tire and put it back on the car as he requested. This process took our technician approximately 17-20 minutes from start to finish. It is clearly posted in our office that our labor rate is $79.95 an hour. We charged him $26.39 since we performed a billable service. The fact that the tire was not able to be repaired was determined while performing this service. The time it took to determine whether the tire could be fixed or not was approximately the same amount of time it would take to patch or plug a leak that is repairable. Therefore, the amount we charged was valid.Sincerely, Nelson T[redacted]Owner
