Please note this move was not handled by our company, Atlas International. It appears to be an inter-Canada move, which I would presume was handled by Atlas Canada. Their service office phone number is ***.

Atlas International Corp, Inc.

I would like the company to rectify the error they made that resulted in the loss of my property.
I hired Atlas Van Lines for an international move from Israel to Alpharetta, GA. The move was scheduled for 8/22 and the plan was for my items to be picked up as is from the home they were stored in and moved to a storage facility. From there, a family member would go through the items with me over skype (as I am located in America). I would then instruct the movers as to which items needed to be packed and shipped to Alpharetta. These terms were agreed to before the move. I was also reassured that this move would be handled with care and that my instructions would be followed as the woman who had been holding on to my items had been stealing them from me. The move was scheduled for 8/22. Before the move, the mover located in Israel reached out to discuss a point of contact. I gave the mover the name of the woman who had been storing my items with strict instructions that the only things she could do would be to give directions to her home and point out which suitcases/boxes were to be shipped. The mover agreed. The day of the move, I got a text from the woman who had been storing my items. She sent me pictures of the items that she had taken that day as well as pictures of empty suitcases that the movers had left behind when they unpacked and repacked my items in her home, against my instructions. In order to get permission to do so, they had the woman sign forms stating that they were allowed to do so, also against my instructions. When I called Atlas Van Lines, the buck was passed around until the blame was laid on my shoulders. I sent my point of contact proof (screenshots of conversations with her mover) that he disregarded my instructions. I asked my point of contact when the movers would return to pick up the suitcases. I was met with silence until I repeatedly followed up. In the follow-up, I was told that Atlas would return to pick up my items - for a fee. After much debate, they agreed to waive the fee but would not retrieve the items for two weeks. This was unacceptable as my family member had a limited window in which he could assist me in sorting through my items at the storage facility (that is costing me money due to their error). When I asked for compensation for the items they left behind, as I'm sure anything worth saving has already been stolen, I was told that my compensation would have been to have the items picked up for free. At that point, I asked to speak with a supervisor and have not heard back since.

Atlas International consigned the move for Ms. to our Israeli agent, understanding they were to pick up the items identified to them by Ms. and as per her instructions. Her instructions indicated she would give, “…the name and number of the woman who has my belongings. She can give directions to her home and which items need to be shipped”. We expected the woman mentioned would be her representative in her absence so our packers would have clear instructions should any questions arise. Our understanding from our agent was, during the attempt to pick up the items, the woman who was to provide instructions opted not to cooperate and would not relinquish some items that were on Ms.’s list for pickup. We were later informed by Ms. the woman had apparently been “stealing” items from her.
Atlas International cannot be responsible for picking up items nor for missing items when our agent was not allowed to pack the items in question. They packed what was available to them and followed the direction of the woman who we believed was representing Ms.. We would not expect the agent to go back to pick up the items the other woman told them to leave with her without an additional charge being assessed for their time and work.
We now have the items originally packed by our agent in a warehouse and are awaiting further instructions from Ms.. We have provided her with free storage for two weeks as she determines her next step. We have tried making further contact with Ms. to discuss next steps regarding the move, including what documents are required, but have had no response.
We expect to be paid for the work of our agent. If Ms. chooses to not do further business with us, she can pay for the pack and handle the move with another vendor.
