As this move is a Military sponsored, Department of Defense move, Atlas International must handle the claim in a prescribed manner to meet government regulations. There is no question that due diligence has occurred regarding this claim situation, even reaching the highest levels of
management Per the Department of Defense contract for Household Goods (HHG): Military members are given instructions by the government, instructing them that Jewelry is not to be included in a shipment, and must be hand carriedItems of value must be included on the High Value (HV) Inventory. Many of the items claimed were not on the HV list. The member is responsible for identifying HV itemsItems must be listed on the inventories as proof of tender. Many of the claimed items were not on the inventory or the HV inventory and thus there is no evidence of tenderItems tendered may be repaired or replaced at the choice of the transportation service provider (AIIL). Further, several items on the claim submitted were not substantiated, but goodwill offers or maximum allowances were made. Please also note at no time did anyone associated with adjustment of the claim make a specific offer for payment nor make any opinion regarding the claim settlement.
