Hired this company to remove pool on 8/16. Job is still not.complete, it has been 3 weeks since they last been here, and we have no timeline for completion. When they were here, the work they did was careless and terrible. They needlessly destroyed my front yard driving machinery all over it scraping it while picking up dirt from the curb. Allen makes excuse after excuse while not giving any information regarding completing the job in a timely matter. It has been 2.5 months and it will have to sit.unfiniahed all winter as it is.now too later to plant grass seed.
does not take in consideration for the permit process (can take up to 20 days), as well as the two weeks that we require to schedule the project after permit approval as well as the weather. This project required us to remove his in ground swimming pool and lawn restoration. This project is unique in the sense of it is a very small yard that is flat with no pitch to remove the water from the backyard to the street. All though *** is a nice guy and I understand he wants the project done as fast as possibly he has no clear understanding of this type of construction work. We have had this year more rain and days of high humidity (high humidity even on sunny days prevents the ground from drying more than a inch or two below the surface) then I can remember in my 50 yrs doing this work. July and September in 2018 saw more rain then since rainfall has been recorded. His yard needs to be graded within an inch plus or minus. The is difficult to do when the ground is dry and hard but if it is soft and cannot be driven over the proper grading equipment because it sinks it is impossible. I have been tying to explain this over and over that the job can not be do correct if you don't allow me to let the ground dry. If the ground is not properly pitched you take the risk that during rain storms and snow melting water will go into the basement and a screened in porch in this case. I will not grade the area in a way that this would be the case. All *** is concerned with is getting the job done immediately. I have his best interest at heart but he continues to write bad reports and reviews about my company. This is the first bad report I have gotten in 50 years. I check his property twice a week to see if the work can be done correctly. I hope I can reason with *** to allow me to complete this work the right way so he doesn't have water issues in the future. He has suggested that I wheel barrel the topsoil in and just plant lawn but that will not help with the grading of the sub-grade to allow me to pitch the water to the street. The township inspectors would also fail the final inspection and that is not going to accomplish anything for anybody.
