At Pro Painting

We identified At Pro Painting company after receiving a proposal from *** Terence Wagner and signed agreement for $5,600 (total cost) to perform repair and painting work at our property (property address: ***, Cincinnati, OH ***). We paid him $1,866 as an advance on April 10th by a personal check. We called him many times to start work. He delayed the work for more than 2 weeks. *** Wagner finally came by on May 13th on the property and removed a concrete base from the wooden deck, lifted the deck, and installed a temporary post. He also added additional items (and cost of $2,750) to fix the deck. Based on his lack of response to our few phone calls and e-mails, we reduced the scope of the original proposed work to fixing the deck alone (without any additional money). We were unable to reach him many times during the three weeks period and he did not come to complete the work. After frustrating three weeks, when we were unable to use the deck (because it was unsafe to use), I sent Mr. Wagner an e-mail to terminate the agreement on 6/8/2020. Because the deck was unsafe, we hired *** to stabilize the deck for $424.
