Review: I hired [redacted] Plumbing to convert my cooktop from LP to natural gas. After installing the pipes and converting the cooktop, the flame only reached medium heat. I called [redacted] to complain that my cooktop was not operating properly. He said it wasn't his responsibility. He claimed I hired him to install the pipes and he did the cooktop conversion as a favor. In any case, he did the conversion, the outcome is his responsibility. I have a warranty on my cooktop from [redacted], who discovered that my cooktop was only meant for LP, not natural gas. It should never have been converted. I called [redacted], the maker of the cooktop, and they said that leaving the cooktop connected to natural gas was dangerous. They recommended that I either convert back to LP or buy a new cooktop. I was disappointed to hear this, and contacted [redacted] again. I asked for a refund on the pipe installation if I was going to have to switch back to LP. He refused. He said it had been my responsibility to check into whether the cooktop was able to be converted. I disagree. I believe he is liable. I didn't want to go back to LP as I prefer natural gas, so I ordered a new cooktop for $3,015.75. I am now asking that [redacted] Plumbing cover all expenses: $850 for the cooktop conversion and $3,015.75 for the new cooktop. My house could have blown up!Desired Settlement: I am asking that [redacted] Plumbing cover all expenses related to the cooktop conversion: $850 for the pipe installation, labor and parts and cooktop conversion, and $3,015.75 for the new cooktop.
