My Husband and I just completed a custom build with Ashford. It is a student rental property in Oxford. We had an architect draw the plans and Ashford bid on the plans. The process had a lot of moving parts, much more than their traditional plans they promote. Everything went smoothly. We finished on time and under budget. As soon as we are able to find another place to build, we will do it again with Ashford.
They are building a home next door to us. On numerous occasions they have come onto our property and opened the gate to our backyard
without asking permission or consent. We have a dog that we let out in the gated area but they have no regard. There is no communication from them - if they need access to our property all they need to do is ask. We have communicated that to them on numerous occasions. They have also damaged our property - spilling concrete on our fence and into our backyard, damaged our patio furniture from items falling into our yard from the build, had a port-o-potty on our property for weeks, toilet paper and men's underwear littered our front yard, workers scraped the bottom of their boots on our newly finished concrete steps. We understand they need to get their work done and we want them out as soon as possible - but seriously all they need to do is communicate and be respectful.
As a warning to anyone who's property is situated next to their build - stand your ground and don't let them bully you into any part of their business. We scheduled a meeting with them to understand their timeline before they started because we were pouring new concrete around our house. We didn't want it to get damaged or be in each others way. When we met the builder said "We are going to move your air conditioner unit because we are building on the property line and we will need to do a few feet of over dig (onto our property). They didn't ask for permission to do any of this - they told us that was what they were going to do. And to that we said "There's not a hope." In their eyes we were being difficult but it is our property, not theirs. So stand your ground and keep an eye out because as I said - they have no regard.
Thanks for letting us know this Ms.. Please call *** and give us more information as to where you live so we can resolve this.
We bought and built our house with Ashford Homes... we knew that new construction would take time & involve stages that would need quick and firm decisions...
Ashford Homes is a custom builder, and that gave us lots of options to pick our materials & modify it accordingly.
Bob, our contractor, was awesome to work with. Jack, the president of Ashford homes was very involved with construction and he listened to suggestions and made us very comfortable while choosing materials.
Bob was always ready to help.On the first year of warranty, he was prompt on fixing few maintenance issues that came up. All of these were minor issues.
Even after the warranty period has been over, we are still able to reach out to the subcontractors we worked with initially, to fix any maintenance issues that have come up so far. we are happy customers ?? and glad that we chose Ashford Homes. Thanks a lot!
We built with Ashford Homes in 2013. We would build again with them in a heartbeat. We had a leak in our roof because of some issues around our masonry fireplace. Ashford sent out countless roofing companies and even inspectors that were climbing our roof in the rain. Six years later after keeping at it, they finally found a company that was able to fix the issue. We had a different issue our bathroom that they kept at until the issue was fixed. We live in a newer subdivision and know everyone that built in our neighborhood and no one would recommend their builder except for us and the other Ashford home in our neighborhood. Did we have some issues that needed ironed out? Yes. Do I see that as Ashford’s fault? No. I have looked for reliable contractors independent of Ashford and finding people that are willing to work and do quality work are near non existent. I promise that is an issue with every builder. The difference is in the follow through. Ashford dealt with the issue and even left us better off than we started. Their staff is genuine and kind and the owner available.
This is #4 for *** with no response. I'll ask for the 4th time, when can we meet?
