My name is *** *** Manager of South Bend Muffler Man is South Bend I received a letter from you on June well *** *** took his car to the muffler man in Elkhart on July -XX XXXX not hereThey put new
pads and rotors on his car I guess a few months later he took it back asking for his money back they looked at his car and they could not find nothing wrong with it but to make him happy they put new rotors and pads on it for himThen in Nov he took it back and said he wanted all his money back and they told him that they can't give him his money back he has a year warranty and on his pads and rotors and they can look at it he told them no thats when he came to South Bend and we looked at it he had a bad caliper we put a new caliper on it they come with a day warranty he left happy then I got a phone call in June of this year and he side he wanted his money back I told him bring your car down so I could look at it for you he siad no he started talking very rude to me and siad that all he *** wants is his money I told him your brakes are still under warranty he siad he don't care and then he got rude again so I just hung up on him

I do not accept Muffler Man's response as the response has several claims that are inaccurate
The responder claims that I came in a few months after having pads and rotors put on, asked for my money back, and then they were replaced againThere is nothing accurate about this statementRather, I came back in barely a week after the initial work was done because they were scraping even harder than beforeI did not ask for my money back, I simply asked them to look at the problem againIt is true that they did not see anything wrong with it, however it is untrue that the pads and rotors were replacedRather, they put some lube on them and said they were fine
The responder then claims that I came back in Nov, asked for my money back, then went to South Bend because I had a 1-year warranty on my pads and rotorsWhile some of this is true, there are a few inaccuraciesFirst, the responder failed to mention that the Elkhart location would have been happy to give me my money backHowever, the manager at that location had to call the responder to ask for permissionThe responder denied a refund and told me that I had to go to his location in South Bend where they would fix itThe warranty information is also inaccurate, there was only a 90-day warranty on the rotors, but I was still within that warrantyThe responder says I left his location "happy." This is highly inaccurateI was forced to drive for over an hour total to go to Elkhart and then to his shop in South BendI then waited nearly hours for the caliper to arrive, which then only took a few minutes to changeI was not at all happy with my 4-hour experience when all I wanted was a refund on the poor service and products
It is true that I called in June asking for a refund because all of the work they did was again completely shot and had to be replaced completelyI told him I was no longer confident in their parts or service and so I did not want to bring my car in for the 4th time for the same problemThe responder then claims that I became very rude and swore at himThis is a flat-out lieI can count the times I've cursed on my two hands and I don't think any one of them was directed at someoneIt is also a lie that he told me my brakes were still under warranty and I said I did not careThe opposite is actually trueThe rotors and caliper were only under a 90-day warranty (uncommonly short)He told me that they were not under warranty and if I took it in, he "might" do something for me, but he would not give me a refund
The only thing I said that may have been rude was that the poor service, short-warranty parts, and rudeness of management was terrible customer serviceHe may have taken this as rude, but it is also trueI do not accept this response because it is full of inaccurate information and a few flat-out lies towards me
