I am thoroughly impressed by the treatment I've gotten here. I hadn't found a dentist in Boston since I moved (4 years ago), and would go to my old dentist on visits home. I missed a few cleanings over the past couple years and found myself with an awful toothache and no one to call. I knew it was bad, but I wanted to choose the right dentist who was knowledgeable and wouldn't rip me off (after a recent layoff, I had no insurance). I spoke with the receptionist, who scheduled an emergency consultation and was very calming when I explained my situation. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with kindness and transparency. Dr. T took x-rays and they has an excellent endodontist for a root canal. As nervous as I was about the entire procedure, Dr. V explained everything calmly and clearly. When I came back for my crown, Dr. V was again reassuring and informative about the procedure. She went above and beyond throughout my whole visit, made me feel at ease, and I came away from this experience feeling so relieved I had found the right dentist! Their practice is truly interested in the health of their patients over trying to make money or falsely advising costly treatments. The front desk was always up-front about the costs. Dr. V stays informed on the most recent studies in dental health and is very skilled. I felt at ease with them the entire time, and will definitely be coming back!
I visited Dental Associates of Arlington in July 2017. I presented my insurance card when I arrived at my appointment, and was seated for a cleaning 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment. The hygienist began doing xrays without asking me or notifying me that my insurance wouldn't cover the xrays. The appointment then ran extremely long. After an hour, I told the hygienist that the appointment was running quite long, and I needed to leave within 15 minutes to get back to work. She said that would not be a problem. I waited another half hour, but the dentist had still not arrived to conduct his exam. I told the team that I needed to leave, that I had waited far longer than a standard appointment, and left without an exam or reviewing the results of any xrays.
The practice then lost my insurance information, and sent me a collections notice for the amount due. As soon as I received the notice, I provided them again with my insurance information to properly file the claim.
Now, in January, I am receiving a bill that the xrays were not covered by my insurance. As I stated before, I never requested xrays or were told that my insurance would not cover them (they had always been covered by previous dental providers). I didn't even see the results of the xrays because I left after experiencing an hour and a half of such poor service. I have never had such a poor experience at a dentist or any other healthcare provider, and I should not be charged for xrays that I did not request or have reviewed with a dentist.
Hello ***, We wanted to reach out to you in regards to your billing issue. We tried contacting you by phone earlier this week but were unable to get in touch. We wanted to give you an update. We have resubmitted the claim for the Xrays to your insurance company and are waiting to hear back from them. We will keep you updated once we receive any information from them. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thank you Sincerely, Dental Associates of Arlington
