On May 26, 2016, we were called by the Denver Police to tow a Nissan Juke When my tech arrived he found that Mr [redacted] was the driver of the Nissan After speaking to Mr [redacted] , it was decided that the vehicle would be towed to our storage facility and that the charge would be $for the tow and $per day for storage Mr [redacted] also made some comment to my tech that there was only liability insurance on the vehicle and the he would come in with the title for the vehicle Now, we have received several calls about this vehicle and we have tried to explain that the registered owner would have to come in with a photo ID and proof of ownership, either the title or registration In one of the conversations that I had with someone claiming to be the owner, he told me that there is a lien on the vehicle and he just wants us to tow the vehicle to a junk yard I explained that the owner would have to come in with a photo ID and proof of ownership, pay the charges for the towing and that we could tow the vehicle out for him if he would like but, the we would not take it to a junk yard for him because what he was trying to do was a crime and we will not get involved in that On another occasion, someone claiming to be the owner called, went on about how there was a lien on the vehicle and the there was liability insurance only on the vehicle I asked if the lien holder had been contacted and the person on the phone said no and that he wasn't contacting them I tried to explain the if the vehicle was not picked up soon we would do a title search through the state and send out letters to anyone listed on the title At that point, the person on the phone told how I better not give the lien holder his address because the payments have not been made on the vehicle In conclusion, if Mr [redacted] is the owner, all he needs to do is bring in his photo ID and proof of ownership, pay the tow charges and take the vehicle If this is not done soon, we will be doing a title search and sending out certified letters to anyone listed on the title who may have interest in the vehicle
