I would not recommend April Travel (non)Protection to anyone, ever
On November 3, I lost my wallet on my flight back to the states, and it was fortunately recovered and sent back to me at my expense a few days laterOver $in cash was missing unfortunately, but the return shipping cost was $for an item that was less than oz
So I called *** on November to see if I could be reimbursed for the shipping cost (I knew that the stolen cash was not covered) and *** said yes it was covered and I could receive reimbursement for it *** said she would email the claims forms to me right away Five days later I hadn't received the forms, so I had to call again to have them sent
Once received (why aren't they available on the website?) I went through the laborious and archaic process that *** has of filling out their extensive forms and mailing in copies of receipts and proof of lossI was told it takes up to business days for a resultSix weeks later I had heard nothing back, so I called and the representative said she thinks I had forgotten to send one of the forms I took photos of all of the paperwork I sent beforehand and the form she mentioned it was definitely in there, so then she said someone will let me know about the status soon A week later no response, so I called again, and was told that my claim was finalized but they didn't have access to the results and *** the manager would have to look into it and would call me back that day The claims department rep doesn't have access to claim information? Really?
So I waited and received no call back, and had to call again days later and was told again that ***, the manager would call me back right away I said that is not an option as I was told that before and am tired of getting the runaround I was given ***'s email and sent her an email explaining my situation and asking for more information on the claim *** wrote me back the next day apologizing that she was out of the office the previous week (how did the employees not know their manager was out?) and that my claim was denied because shipping was not a covered expense
If I had been told that when I first called I would not have bothered going through the expense and time to navigate their ridiculous bureaucratic claims process, but I was originally told it would be covered and now I am not only out the shipping cost of the returned wallet, but also the cost of making copies of the documents and receipts, postage and the extensive amount of time I have put in just to get an answer I asked *** to honor her employee's mistake and fill the claim as I was promised She refused
This company lacks integrity, basic customer service, and follow-through I should have listened to the other bad reviews before purchasing their un-insurance Never again

This company has done nothing to help us during our international trip. All they did is add to our frustration when my husband hurt his knee. We spent so much time on phone calls, sending e-mails plus the claim submission, it's ridiculous. We still don't have a check, nor a real explanation nor apology. If you are smart, you will stay away from April - it is the worst travel insurer ever.
